  • This or the Fitbit versa v1 ?

    • +1

Versa is a smartwatch while the Charge is a health tracker. I found a decent comparison here:
      https://www.cnet.com/news/fitbit-charge-3-vs-versa-which-is-…

      • What about the Inspire HR?

        • +7

Buggered if I know lol. Google it :)

          • +1

@TogTogTogTog: lol.. i tried.. seems like they are very similar. Thought you may know.
            Cheers anyway

            • @Da dpG: Inspire series doesn't have fitbit pay

              • @humbala: Correct me if I'm wrong, Fitbit Pay only available on Charge 3 Special Edition

                EDIT:

I just checked Fitbit community website.

                • @O O: See a bit further down - we don't have a special edition here in Oz - all should have NFC and play nicely with pay.

                  @O O: Hey mate
I got a normal Charge 3 a few months ago from BingLee and I've been using Fitbit Pay through it.
I think what the website says is for the North America region specifically where the normal version is a lot cheaper.

                  Edit: spelling

    Thanks

  • Could you price match at Officeworks to drop the price further?

  • +1

    Does this have FitBit Pay?

    • +1

      Yes.

    • -2

No. That's the Special Edition of the Charge 3. Which is not this.

    • +1

I have one and it has Fitbit Pay/NFC.

    Please help guys

    This vs mi band 4

Looking for personal experience with these gadgets

    Thanks guys ✌️

    • +1

Hey. I bought this last week and happy with it. The biggest sell for me was the NFC/Fitbit pay on this. It looks nice and has a proper wrist watch type band where mi band has a tapered/thin band. As for fitness tracking, I am not much of a fitness person so I primarily track my steps and sleep score. Downside is that it is a monochrome screen vs coloured oled on Mi band. Also, has limited watch faces. I have not used Mi band so cannot speak about its accuracy and app experience.

      • Correct me if i'm wrong but isn't the Fitbit Pay only available on the Charge 3 SPECIAL EDITIONS? Where as these regular editions don't have an NFC chip?

        • +4

That is in the US. All variants in Australia have NFC. Mine is not the special edition. You should be able to confirm this on the product page itself.

          • +1

@sid4frnds: OK awesome - Thanks for clearing that up!

          • @sid4frnds: Indeed - there's nothing on the product page to suggest you need a variant of it to enjoy this feature. Should be on all.

    • Go with the Mi Band so the Glorious Han Empire can track every step you take.

    • Mi Band Battery lasts for ages, I was up to 20 days last week on a single charge.

  • Negotiated a deal at JB Hi-fi strand arcade city for $100 a week back.

  • Any notifications appearing on this one?

  • What's with the Amazon dispatch time saying within 1-2 months?!

    EDIT: Rose Gold

    Picked one up. Thanks OP

  • Would this be appropriate/good value for say a 9yo and/or 11yo kid, rather than the kid-specific ones?

    • +3

would recommend mi band 4 for $47, personally I think this is too expensive for 11 yo.

    • I bought one for my 10yo a week ago and it’s good prep for when she enters year5 so she can get sms/call notification without having to hold her phone. It also has inspired her to study more re human physiology (heart rate, sleep cycle, etc). Set alarms on the fitbit and no more having to struggle waking up in the morning too. I honestly think this is awesome for kids. Don’t buy the fitbit for kids, I think it’s the alta, 11yo wont like the rugged and colourful bands.

  • Worth the upgrade from the Alta HR? I actually quite like the small size, but FitBit Pay is tempting..

    • I initially decided to go for the Inspire HR for the slightly larger screen and stopwatch over the Alta, but went with the Charge 3 when a past deal made it cheaper than the Inspire. I didn't think much of NFC at the time, but it's honestly become one of my favourite thing about the watch. I use it pretty much everyday.

No GPS on this is a deal breaker if you want to track your runs.

    • +1

Yeah, the way they list "Connected GPS" as a model specific feature when it's actually just software on your phone is a pretty sus move.

    • -1

GPS is a deal breaker if you don't want the Deep State tracking you closely.

  • Anyone know how it compares to the pebble in communications with texting and social media responses/notifications?

    • +2

you can only view notifications and calls.
this is a fitness tracker with some features and not a smart watch, I believe the versa is what you may be looking for, however, the price on that comes close to apple watch 3 or samsung watch range.

      • Thank you. Guess I'll just hold out then.

  • +1

Thanks OP, picked one up on my break at work just now. The gift idea I needed. :)

+1 for the formatting and effort!
