    This is raw/bare cast iron (needs to be seasoned and needs to be looked after in terms of the seasoning). The other one is enameled cast iron (which doesn’t need to be seasoned, but needs to looked after in the sense of being careful not to chip the enamel, and not using as high heat). Just depends what you’re looking for.

    FWIW, I would choose this one over the other one for a fry pan. Whereas, I’d choose enameled for a Dutch oven. But it’s largely personal preference.

      I believe this one is preseasoned out of the box, so not bare/raw. Of course it becomes better when you season it further.

        Yes it does come preseasoned (as most bare cast iron does these days). Bare in this context meaning non-enameled.

        Pre-seasoned cast iron is still referred to as bare cast iron (even though it’s not really “bare”!).
