Drats, I just bought this for $24.98 at EB Games the other day seeing as that was the lowest I'd seen it in some time. But my big fear is seeing this turn up on Game Pass in the coming months the way Forza 6 did just after I bought that.
That said, I fired it up last night after the sizeable update downloaded, and it's an incredibly polished game. Runs very smoothly, seems to be 4k 60fps at same time, which I didn't expect at all. I went into the options menu looking for a switch to choose between 4k 30fps and 1080p 60fps, but no such setting can be found. A quick google confirms it hits 60fps at 4k. Wonderful stuff.
Driving the first couple of races with a controller was a real pleasure. I have a Logitech G27 wheel from the famous JB Hifi pricing error a few months back, so I'll be trying it with that soon.
