      Sorry, just curious…

      • Show it to me on this AD or on eBay even…

    U again … Spam.

    U know u won't make it.

    • This seems to be the rep's first post and the seller on ebay has a good record.

Do you know something more about this than what meets the eye?

      • The overly negative people think it's a dupe of this: http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/50110

That one was the second or third post from the same guy.

But this is from a different seller. Same price, different guy.

        • Yes, I guessed so; I referred to the same deal below as well.

It is surprising that if one person mentions something negative about the deal, you will find a dozen who jump on the bandwagon without checking their facts.

  • Waiting for the ban hammer…

  • +2

You couldn't pay me to use this trash anyway.

    Nod32 ftw.

  • Wouldn't touch McAffe with a 10ft pole!

    • Their OWN people don't trust McAfee…, heard it from a Rep ! lmao

    funny as..

Oooh, I want to be negged too!

  • I wonder why everyone is bashing this deal, while a similar deal for McAfee Antivirus was well received
    http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/50110

  • He has 98.4% positive feedback, the other guy was selling it for $5 + $2 P&H. This isn't a deal for me, IMO avast free is much better than this.

  • +2

    Cheaper here.
Postage for the box is 9 Dollars to Sydney making it total: 9 + 5 = 14
( You can add standard posting)

The other seller was selling them for 5 + 2= 7 dollars.
    http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/50110

I hate sellers charging more postage than the item.

    • The thread you are referring to is for an AntiVirus product whereas this is a different product.

      • They are the same products. Its Total security. See the product box. Exactly the same thing. The previous guy wrote it like this.

        • They're not idenitcal… the one you linked is actually the full McAfee package. This one has almost as many features, but not quite.

See: http://home.mcafee.com/store/total-protection?ctst=1 and click the Compare tab/button/link/thing.

  • I can't believe how these big brand anti-virus software's get such bad reviews.

"Couldn't pay me to use this trash"
    "Would't touch this with a 10ft pole"

How can they make a software so bad.

I was thinking that because it's so cheap, i would upgrade from AVG Free, but it doesn't sound tempting. :/

    • AVG is actually one of the worst free antiviruses, you should consider getting Comodo or Avast, they're both free

      • Yeah AVG use to be the best but not now Avast is good MSE is better. Mcafee is absolute crap it wont detect the serious stuff and is a resource hog.

Microsoft Security Essentials its the best product out there right now has great support is light and its free

    • How can big brand av software get bad reviews? I am assuming you haven't been in IT world long enough.

Ever tried norton utilities/disk doctor pre-symantec era?
Ghost was the best until Symantec bought it.

many good things turn to sh1t after some giant company bought them over… Electronic Arts are known to manage to somehow 'kill' off really good games with strong following.

Lets look at Skype and see what microsoft is going to do to it.

do yourself a favour and get avast/avg or even pay for a copy. at least they can afford to put out free versions for people who can't afford them.

  • +1

Just use AVAST or MS essential.

    • My avast! just says "avast has been updated" ..

  • How about Zone Alarm (CheckPoint)? Both ZA and AVAST have the free trial version, but the licensed version of ZA is much cheaper, about USD40 for 3 PC's vs 1 PC for AVAST. ZA is a much more popular download from CNET.

My Internet Security license is about to expire, still have not make up my mind what to buy! There are so many free options out there, but if the free stuffs are so good, how can the licensed ones survived?

    • I'm a computer tech. Get either Kaspersky or this one (worth getting the $48 one):

      http://www.emsisoft.com/en/

The free one is great as a second one (not run actively all the time) to run occasionally to pick up things your main one misses.
