  • coming up as $104 and $97 for me (no coupon just store price)

    • Select the polarised colour option.

      • +1

Yeah - little aussie flag up the top

        • The non-polarised options are about $100. Select the polarised option and it'll jump up. The coupon can't be used on the cheaper ones.

          • @Kden: The Polarised link says $104 for me but I cant find the word polarised any where in the description. Maybe incorrect link.

            • +1

@Noobist45: I can't give a direct link to the polarised option. Use that link, and then use the 'Select Color' drop-down to choose a polarised option and size.

              • @Kden: Right, with you now. I looked through them but wasnt paying enough attention.

          • @Kden: Edit: Oops, selecting the size adjusts the price.

  • Is the website thrusted?

  • +1

Same question, has anyone shopped from this site before?

  • As soon as you select a size the price jumps up to $157

    • Using the GET25 code will bring it back down to $120.

      • D'oh! cheers bud

  • +1

be like casey neistat, buy some exxy sunnies then scrape off the branding

  • +4

Can’t believe it’s your first post. So much details already provided and so many answers. 👍
    Cheers mate.

    • +14

Upvoted for not saying "My first post, please be gentle"

    • +1

Lol…yeah…that's pretty bad. Moving right along then…

    • +1

I would assume to order through PayPal and selec no currency conversion?
That way if something goes wrong, just get the easy refund on PayPal.

      • What about they are fake branded glasses? Read the reviews carefully…

    • I just ordered a pair and then saw the reviews. Already sent them an email to cancel my order. This should be fun…

    • +5

Looks like the main issue is receiving them late. Have to remember that most customers will only review if they have a bad experience. Considering the price, I think it's worth the risk.

  • Anyone manage to buy them? After I enter all my information at checkout and click proceed to payment, it just refreshes the checkout page. no errors that I see.

    • I had this issue using Safari. Switched to Chrome and that worked immediately.

I paid thru paypal if that matters…

    • I got them last night with no hassle.

      • Got a pair. Weird, just totally closed my browser and then reopened and it worked.

  • Thanks OP. Ordered me some RB2140 polarised for almost 50% off retail!

  • -1

Dodgy as, went to checkout via paypal and my order was converted from GBP to AUS. This was a deal breaker as it increased the 2x frames in my cart by almost $50

    • Use a card checkout as I said in the description, and you'll pay the original checkout price.

Just buy some fake ones off yupoo or taobao, they are literally 1:1

    • I heard you need to actually speak Chinese to buy from Taobao, is there any other way?

      • Google Translate? Or you can try Aliexpress?

      • hire someone to buy for you I guess

      • you just need an agent, i buy heaps of stuff with suberbuy.com. you just tell them the item you want, pay for it, and they ship it to you.
search for taobao agents, and heaps come up. a lot of big ones out there

      • No. Read and type Chinese : D

    • +2

Wait a second, aren't Ray-Bans made in Italy?
So how can you get 1:1 of Ray-Bans from China?

      • -1

took mine to an optom and he thought they were retail, polarized and everything

        • Sounds like he needs his eyes checked

  • Which size are people getting?

  • cheaper at catch with latitude pay, if someone hasn't used it yet.

    • +1

They don't have the polarised option for the New Wayfarers. Also limited sizing/colour selection.

  • Anyone know of any decent alternatives to Ray Ban and doesn't break the bank?

    • -2

AliExpress has tons of decent quality sunglasses. You can get polarised ones for around $10. They’re probably made in the same factories as the Rays.

      • Thank you 😊

    • -3

Matthew Painter has two price tiers ($167 and $247) from memory. They were doing $60 off that when I bought some.

They're made of metal and glass and come with a lifetime warranty.

Almost all luxury brand sunglasses are made by one business and they make them to last about 6 months.

      • +1

I believe you're talking about William Painter

    • H&M wayfarers are great at around $10. Do the job and won't break the bank if you lose/damage them. I've gone through three pairs over the past 6 years, so $5 per year.

      • Their hinges are crap though compared to RB's

  • Is the extra $50 or so for polarised worth it? I've had non-polarised wayfarers for years and the lenses feel like 'moisturiser for your eyes'. Don't know why you would also need polarisation?

    • +2

From my understanding, they're most useful in an environment with a lot of glare, particularly around water/snow. Also good for driving when the sun reflects off the bonnet. Non-polarised glasses may force you to squint when encountering a strong glare. If you haven't had an issue with glare so far, they probably aren't necessary.

With this store, you can use the 25% off coupon with the more expensive polarised glasses - making it only $20 more for the polarised option.

      • +13

Once you go polarised you never go back. Until you pull out your phone.

        • +1

Or look at the train schedule screen at the station.

          • @anamul: What train schedule screen? Oh you mean that black rectangle?

  • -3

    Fake raybans are more fashionable

    • +1

      And cheaper

  • Just going to leave this here.

    • Got spooked by the reviews above, ordered via your link - thanks :) Only losing $5 if it's shit.

      • No worries. I've been pretty happy with mine. Would buy again if I wore out or lost a pair.

    • +1

Rolled the dice and bought a few. I've got the new wayfarers in the deal but these will be great for places I may lose/break them (e.g. beach). Will be interesting to compare.

      Thanks!

  • Total comes $134.83

  • Bought one. Thanks

  • Should I buy this deal, or should I get William Painter sunglasses? https://youtu.be/H9NkEJeVLs8

Last time I bought $200 Luxottica Oakleys they broke and don't seem very durable. The lenses are losing a film layer now.

    • its a thin piece of plastic. of course they'll all break easily

    • +1

Well obviously the last time someone who wasn't a complete bogan bought Oakleys was in 1999, so I'd say that 20 years is a pretty good run out of a pair of glasses.

  • Does anyone know if it is possible to use private health insurance to claim some of the money back?

    • Nope. They have to be subscription lenses to claim on private health

      • Yeah, I've added subscription lenses to the frame, will that work?

        • Not sure how the claim process works if it can be used for purchases from any store. Probably best to check your policy

        • The business you buy it from will need an AU "provider number" and an itemised receipt (with codes which relate to prescription frames and lenses).

          Otherwise, no.

  • Thanks OP. Bought tortoise green polarised. Went with DHL shipping option for 8 bucks more total $136.15

  • I was looking at getting the RB4181 Polarised, is there a code that works for these?

    • +4

The code ALATNAR will take 20% off that pair, bringing it down to $95.82 (originally $176.48).

      • Thanks mate! Wish it was free postage as well hahah

      • Hey OP any better discounts for Boxing Day Sales? Still looking at buying the polarised RB4181

        • +1

On FashionEyewear you can still use the ALATNAR code, but it only takes them down to $100.88 now. If you were spending over $160 you could use the BOXING25 code instead to take 25% off your order.

I had a quick look around and it looks like using the ALATNAR code from FashionEyewear is still the cheapest option unless you want to risk second hand.

          • @Kden: Cheers for your help mate, might wait till they get down under $100 again. Gotta get those bargains!

            • @grads5: No worries. If you look hard enough I reckon you'd be able to find them for $90 sometime in the near future.

              • @Kden: Let's hope so i am just about ready to pull the trigger!

  • "You got that hair slicked back,
    And those Wayfarers on, baby."

  • +2

I just used the ALATNAR code for 20% off a non-polarised pair, thanks OP!

I used paypal for safety reasons, but I have a credit card with no int'l transaction fees so I paid in GBP and saved about $4 on paypal's conversion rate.

    • Just an update on my post above - my order FINALLY arrived on Dec 30th (ordered Dec 7th).

Whilst I'm no expert, I'm quite sure these are the real deal. Came in the proper box with all the expected packaging, case, and booklet. Happy!

  • Odds on these being fake?

    Hawkers

  • $160 (including shipping) cheaper than Sunglasses Hut Black Friday prices for the 2 pairs of sunnies I was keen on.

  • Has anyone who bought got order/shipping confirmation yet?

    • This is all I’ve got so far - was received the day I ordered.

      Dear xxxxxxxxx,

Thank you for your order and a huge welcome from the Fashion Eyewear team.

Please allow approximately 5-10 working days for your eyewear to be delivered to you.

We will update you with a dispatch notification on the day before delivery with your tracking details.

      Best wishes,

      Customer Care Team

Got a shipping confirmation today. Says shipping via economy post - 7-14 business days - though I wont be holding my breath ;)

    • Pretty good, I got a shipping notification email, but shortly after I got another email with Uk tracking, and then today an email saying it's arrived in Australia and a new local tracking number.

    • Edit: Tracking link goes to a 404 page now .. interesting.

      • Me too, 404. I tried pasting the local tracking number into the Australia Post tracker and it had no idea
