    It's not free.

It's new titles added to a paid subscription.

    • +1

      Updated.

    • +2

I feel we are inconsistent on OzBargain about this. Eg new titles on Xbox game pass or free monthly games on Ps+.

  • +3

If you havn't played it, don't worry about star fox 2. The frame rate is awful and it shows why it wasn't realised. But punch out!

    • The arcade version of Punch-Out! on the Switch is great too. Even works in portrait mode.

  • +2

    Kirby <3

  • Anyone got a worthwhile deal on Nintendo online? Thinking discounted gift cards is my best bet.

    • +2

It's only $29.95 for a year at full price. With one of the 10% off eShop card deals you can't go too far wrong.

    • +8

Or find a family subscription to join and should only be $6.87 for a whole year!

      • +1

        Off to the OzBargain classifieds!

      • Yeah I just set up a family account with all my friends from Discord.

Makes it hard to complain about the service when it works out so cheap.

    • +2

I'm not certain if it's still available, but if you have Amazon prime you can get some free if you hook your account up to twitch

      • +2

Yeah, this was steal but unfortunately expired on 24/09.

  • Which subscription is that?

    • Nintendo Switch Online.

  • Is there a full list of games, or do they add and remove them thru the months?

    • +1

      They don't remove…just add.

      Full list here:
      https://www.nintendo.com/switch/online-service/nes/

      • Thanks

    • +1

They used to add a few titles each month, but a while ago they announced that would stop. This has been the first update since I believe. So in other words, don't expect monthly new drops.. who knows why. As someone who doesn't play online games, it's the only thing to entice me to keep my subscription which will lapse in Jan.

      • don't expect monthly new drops..

So they just drop a big one now and then?

  • +7

I think this is at best should be a forum post instead of a deal. Would people subscribe to Nintendo Online because of the new games or is it more an FYI for existing subscribers?

A better example to make my point: if there's a new restaurant offer on Entertainment Book, should it posted as a deal?

    • +3

A new channel on Foxtel ? Quick, let's post it on OzBargain.

  • +1

This isn't really a deal, just some games being added to Nintendo Switch Online.

    • Similar deal to this one. Feel free to report to mods.

  • Nice 👍

  • -1

    Not a deal

  • Do these games remain playable for as long as you have a Nintendo Online sub, or are they rotated out?

    • +2

      Remain playable with Nintendo subscription

  • +3

There is no price on this? Assume standing offer and as such - no deal.

    • +13

For clarity… I don't believe that we should post here if something is added to a subscription service. Do we post each time a new movie comes out on Netflix?

      • +3

I also agree with this. This is just adding content to something in the end as well that has nothing to do with purchasing.

      • +3

Do we post each time a new movie comes out on Netflix?

        Good point, you've convinced me.

      • +3

Seeing the mod's response to this post, I guess we can start posting every time Netflix updates it's catalog or a new album releases on Spotify.

I guess a movie airing on free-to-air TV is cheaper than buying the DVD. That's a deal!

      • +2

I agree with this, 100%. I always find these kinds of posts frustrating.

        • -1

          crazy thought right.
If you don't like the post…report it and move on instead of whining like a kid who didn't get the christmas gift they wanted.

  • so no need to by a nes mini or snes mini

  • +5

Not a deal. If more songs are added to Spotify should it be a deal too?

    • Apparently the moderators at Ozbargin think so…

    • -7

Did Spotify stop adding new songs to its service for a long period of time?

Blimey, Spotify as a subscription service is a very good deal. If it stopped adding new songs for a long time and then started again I reckon that is deserving of a post!

      Get over it!

  • isnt super punch out already on there?

  • +1

God weirded out there for a moment thinking I'd read 'Journey to Syphilis'

    • +2

      Title of my autobiography.

  • +4

Yes! I love breath of fire

    • +3

      Underrated, series needs a reboot!

      • +1

        Very true
        Plus
Bof iv and dragon quartet remake.

  • +5

    Forums it.

  • Let it go guys, gaming info is a big deal to ozbargain members.

Think of sony, epic, steam, microsoft and etc monthly free games.

    • +7

Those free games are products that normally cost money and are being made free for a period of time. That's a great deal.

Nintendo does not currently sell these games separately to the Nintendo Online subscription, which has no current discount. The everyday price of these games is "have a subscription" so there is no deal presented in this post.

Gaming info can happily exist in the forums, as per the current guidelines.

      • -4

"The everyday price of these games is "have a subscription" so there is no deal presented in this post."

Sorry but that can easily fit into the definition of a deal. This post might be a reminder of that deal, but it is a timely reminder given that no new games have been added in a while.

  • +2

man, add Donkey Kong Country 2!

    • +2

… They will eventually as it belongs to nintendo/rare ip.

Might as well DKC 1-3 why stop at 2 lol

      • Because I found 3 controller-snappingly difficult. So everyone should suffer because I'm a big cry baby!

        • I thought 2 was generally seen as the most difficult

  • +4

They downvote this but not the sony or Microsoft ones, makes no sense

    • +4

Microsoft and Sony have once a month releases where you need to actively go and add the game to your library during that time period… or you don't get it.

Nintendo are better than that; they add games to their online service over time and they stay available. You don't have to do anything, no action required… so this isn't a deal, it's just a thing that happens.

      • I was never aware that the definition of a deal was constrained to a finite period of time. Please point me in the direction of a dictionary definition stating that.

Regardless, arguing over the semantics of what a deal is and what it is not is just a waste of time. The fact is that a set of games are being made freely available as per an agreement sought out by Nintendo. That's a deal in my books. If it bothers you so much, just ignore it!

        • If something is available all the time it's not a deal, it's just how things are.

  • +1

Thanks OP! Valuable information pertaining to an existing deal that hasn't been updated in a while. You're doing a great job and are a great asset to Ozbargain. Ignore all the easily triggered haters!

  • +3

Breath of Fire II, hell yeah.

  • +2

lol this is a subscription…how is it a deal???

  • +2

Wait which part of this is a deal?

    • +3

Even I reported it to be removed based on the feedback. There is nothing more that I can do.

      • At least that’s what people say mmm mmm, that’s what people say mmm mmm

But I keep posting, can’t stop, won’t stop posting

It’s like I got this mission in my mind, sayin’ gonna be alright

‘Cause the gamers gonna play, play, play, play, play

And the haters gonna hate, hate, hate, hate, hate

Baby, I’m just gonna post, post, post, post, post

I post it off, I post it off
