Yep I grabbed a couple from the same deal, was hoping to see a similar deal ~280 from Amazon during this weekend but nothing so far :(
how about the Toshiba n300 6TB drives for $227.46?
or even the Toshiba n300 8TB for $276.91?
pretty sure someone posted the Toshiba deal and based on discussion/review it is not as reliable.
why wouldnt you just spend the extra $40 and get a 10tb from amazon?
I couldn’t find the 10TB one for $260~$280 range. Care to share the link or post another deal?
It's an external one.
@highkite: you shuck it my dude
That’s not red though.
@allenhori: true, its whitelabel. very similar to red. info: https://www.servethehome.com/wd-wd100emaz-easystore-10tb-ext…
@mopo: Will it void warranty? Plus it needs some type of adaptor to work with other enclosures/ NAS isn’t it?
@allenhori: Nothing needed for qnap/synology NAS. I have one (just ordered 2 more) and it was plug and play on my DS918+
@Garbotoxin: How about warranty? I’m thinking of swapping the drives in my ds918+
@Garbotoxin: How about warranty?
@allenhori: I mean, I haven't broken the my enclosure so I can just put it back together and RMA it if I need to
@Garbotoxin: Thank you
@allenhori: doesnt void warranty if you dont break the clips on the enclosure. just put it back in the enclosure if it needs to be sent back for rma. warranty period is shorter however.
@mopo: Thanks!
@mopo: Good comparison guide this. basically 10% slower and slightly warmer than a RED but substantially cheaper. Cheers Mopo.
Does AMazon AU handle warranty for these?
I believe WD will honour the warranty regardless of place of purchase.
Got an 8tb Red back in July for $260. I guess the exchange rate is killing us at the moment.
