I bought $50 ebay card last night, havent received 2000 flybuys points yet. When can i expect them?

  • Isn't there a $5 charge of the Colse $100 gift card (so costing $105)?

Maybe I'm misunderstanding but I'm going by the last line in the link to the deal photo at the top of the page.

So receive $10 worth of Flybuys for paying $105 for a $100 card.

    • +3

Yes you have to pay $105 so you only get 5% discount. I still find it worthwhile.

  • Can eBay GC be use to pay Coles gift card at eBay.com.au?

    • Where can you find Coles gift card on eBay.com.au?

    • yeah where?

    • Apologise, I can’t.
probably it should be Wish GC.
      Keep for future.

  • I purchased 1x eBay $50 and 1x event $50 I noticed the movie card isn't for Event,

Will the event one give me any points or just the eBay one

    • As expected only got it once

  • Just wondering is the Coles mastercard just a normal card that we can use for gift card purchases?

    • +1

I believe you can use it like a normal mastercard, i have used them at many places (you have to swipe, enter credit and pin)

got a funny attendant today, middle aged lady, she was just trying to do the right thing

she looked at my 3 cards and says omg, we cant sell that many, its store policy, ill need to call the manager, how many do you have?

    me: like 3

oh thats way too many, the limit is 10

    me: ive got THREE!!!

ill need to call the manager, its also written in the coles terms and conditions that you have to pay for them in one shot, and you cant split

me: bull, show me, ill just buy one

manager comes along and says yep, have to buy in one transaction

me: FFS, I only want to buy one

    • What 3 cards? You want to buy 3 gift cards in the same transaction? Or you want to buy 1 card in one transaction and do it 3 times?

      • well what i normally do is do 3 cards, 1 card per transaction

        I obviously ask first

        • I have done 5 but try to go when they are not busy.

        • Just do it as self check out

          • @SnoozeAndLose: I have done this but do not always have a gift card that covers $105. I understand that you cannot split at the selfcheck out.

            • @Yola: so you can do a split payment buying a actual GC , as long as it at the manned?

              • +2

@Samsungnote10: Yes I have this using 2 GC'c or 1 GC and CC. However 1 Coles store I go to refuse to use GC's, in another they told me it would not work but I have done it many times. I try to pick a young, usually a student, casual who do not know better on care.

      • Why buy 3? Isn't it only one bonus per fly buy account?

    • hellohello123

Interesting encounter…People sometime wants to show that they are working and calling the shot. Were you trying to pay with Coles eGC?

      • +1

was paying by physical gift card, but when I put through the one card on self serve, she didnt care after that

in this case, she wasnt trying to beat her chest, just trying o follow the rules

for the record, I went back to teh same coles today, made sure it was a different staff, asked politely if I could buy three, she was completely fine with it, even stood by me waiting to swipe her staff card for approval

"according to coles rules" my butt

        • "according to coles rules" my butt

This is exactly my point. People sometime wants to show that they are calling the shot.
Been through more than enough in life - let them call the shot all they want as long as I achieve my goals.
Were you after the Coles MC or eBay GC?

          • +1

            @F1ngolf: exactly, ive heard maximium limit of 1, 3, 5 , 10
all depends on who is on,
I dont take it personally, I just move on, ive argued a few times, but I doubt its going to change anyhting

for the record, I was after coles MC,

I pushed split payment option but the machine absolutely had a panic attack so couldnt test the theory

will go back again to test the split physical GC option possibility tomorrow

            • @Samsungnote10:

I pushed split payment option but the machine absolutely had a panic attack so couldnt test the theory

Same experience for me with split eGC payment at self checkout.

Yola shared on using 2 egift cards at a manned checkout. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/8088565/redir

                @F1ngolf: interesting,

what I read once or twice was that you swipe with a physical card, and it says insufficent, but then asks you for another payment, so it just works normally

                keen to test it

                • @Samsungnote10: So far, I was successful doing split payment at self checkout for non GC purchase only.

                  • +1

@F1ngolf: split payment for non gc is possible, I have done that a few times before

              • @F1ngolf: self checkout doesn't work with split payment even when egc/gc aren't used

            • @Samsungnote10: have u tested?

      • Yes people trying to do the right thing are a pain. I have also experienced middle aged ladies doing this and try to pick young casuals who do not give a damn, pretty much 100% success rate.

  • -1

Just picked up one on each account, they don't show 2000 points on the docket. Is that consistent with everyone else who already got their points?

    • +3

I brought mine on Saturday, 2000 points was credited on Sunday. The docket will not show the points.

    • +1

Points are normally credited the evening after your qualifying purchase

    • -1

Sweet thanks for the quick response guys. I am just used to the spend $x promos where it states on the docket your bonus points. I will just wait it out

  • +4

Just to confirm other users' experience, I bought an eBay and Ticketek giftcard on separate transactions (but it also works in the same transaction) using the same FlyBuys card and got 2000 bonus for each of them. Paid using discounted eGC too.

    • Did you do this at self or manned checkout?

      • Would like to know too. Thanks.

      • +1

Self. But an attendant still has to approve and write the date.

        • Perfect! I just paid via credit card for a eBay GC on Saturday as it did not occur to me that self checkout allows Coles egift card payment for GC purchase.

        • +2

I've just bought the $50 eBay GC with Coles eGC at self check out today.

  • how will product refunds work on the gc mastercard?

    • Tried and can go back to the card.

      • Eben after using all credits to zero?

        • yes, the store did the reverse and 3 days later it went back to the card.

  • Someone told me with Uber gift cards you have to use the whole amount in one go? That true?

    • I don't use Uber, but I thought you'd just load it onto your account and pay as you go like Netflix

      • They were talking about Uber Eats. Maybe it’s different.

    • +3

Not true have 250 in credits and have been using slowly on uber and ubereats this week.

      • Good to know.

        Thanks

        • +2

No worries, 3 year expiry once you redeem on the app by the way.

      • How do you use it on Uber.

All my credits went to my ubereats accounts. It wont show on my Uber account.

There is no option to change payment to me uber credits.

I tried setting up a trip, then changing payment, no uber credit option

        • I redeemed all my codes on Uber and I have to manually change the payment option after the trip.

  • Our Coles still had the banner up for this and I bought a $50 eBay not realising this deal had expired, no chance of getting these flybuys points right?

    • +2

Could take a photo of the banner and ask via Facebook Messenger; they might give it to you as a gesture of goodwill?
