Is the DLC worth it or base game fine? I'd just be playing single player

@cyrax83: Why hold off? You need the base game to play it anyway, and there's no other deal "yet" that gives u the complete package..
@Ichigo: There's the massive hassle of needing a US account for the DLC and having to get the funds from a 3rd party source to buy it from the eshop since you won't be able to use a credit card there.
You can play thr base game just fine. The expansions give you new civilizations to play. Also adds certain weather effects and stuff I believe.
Its been ages since I played it though. I personally could never imagine playing it on the switch.
The expansions give you 16 new civilizations on top of the original 20, almost doubling the amount. They also add Great Ages, Individual city loyalty, Governors, Enhanced Alliance options, Emergency pacts, World congress, 21st century era and Engineering projects etc. Pretty much half the game is in the expansions packs, like civ 5 was, the game is practically incomplete without them.
Oh man I've been umming and ahhing about grabbing this at $45 through the eShop (or I guess $40 with the 10% cards).
Dang physical copies being so cheap.
This game is virtually unplayable on the Switch, I'm sorry but I tried, it starts out OK but slows to a grind quickly (you need a PC to play this). Resale ASAP if you buy it
Maybe if you play on a huge map and have a lot going on. But the same goes on the PC. Most players find it plays just fine (except for the victory bug in the latest patch, which will probably be fixed soon).
For me, it's comparable to the Linux version, which has always been a bit slow between turns. But this is Civ. A few minutes between turns is normal.
Just a heads up its $22.48 AUD during the steam autumn sales at the moment(75% off), I know its not the same platform but pretty great deal if you just want the game & don't mind playing it on PC :)
The steam offer looks like it ends on December 4thOh and they also have the Digital Deluxe pack with the following for less than 30 bucks too: Civilization VI base game, Australia Civilization & Scenario Pack, Khmer and Indonesia Civilization & Scenario Pack, Nubia Civilization & Scenario Pack, Persia and Macedon Civilization & Scenario Pack, Poland Civilization & Scenario Pack, and Vikings Scenario Pack.
Thanks. I bought the Digital Deluxe version from Steam CN, CNY$66 (~ AUD$13.87 according to Google). BTW, the plain one is CNY$49 (~ AUD$10.30).
I think I’d rather the $8 App Store version. I played through some Civ when it came out on an iPad Pro and it seemed good.
Civilisation revolution? It is easier. It is still good though
I meant Civ VI. And I agree, Revolution was good - enough for me to spend many days of my life playing.
