  What do people think of the latest COD?

  This is coming from a guy who loved cs:go and prior versions as a pc fps player.

    I'm not a fan. The worst CoD in several years for me. Every CoD caters to the very casual, low skill player to some extent, but the MW developers have essentially stated that the game is designed to let the worst players do better, and it shows. Active, aggressive playstyles are hindered in favour of slow campers. Strong skill-based matchmaking in almost every gamemode means every game is to some extent like ranked mode in other games - you have to use the best weapons and try your hardest every time or you will lose. Maps are full of buildings, corners, second storey windows where people can set up camp with claymores (powerful grenades that automatically explode when an enemy gets near) protecting their rear, so they can easily stand still looking out the window and kill anyone stupid enough to move and run around.

      You basically described every cod game ;P. I don't camp at all and regularly finish top 3.

  You ever played COD? If so, it's the best one for about 5 years I reckon. If not, it's a fast-paced FPS with in my opinion good mechanics, not as technical as CS, it has some slight auto-asists built in, but really fun multiplayer, I don't even bother with the campaign. I think this is just about the right price for it.

    I've played the cod:mw that was on offer on psplus earlier in the year. Not bad.

    This latest modern warfare game seems more contemporary / realistic, so it entices me.

    Those older cod black ops games with those crazy skins just seemed a bit out there for me.

      MW2 is my favourite COD of all time. It's definitely a modern progression to the MW versions, so if you liked them you will definitely like this. Has cross-platform MP across PS4/XBOX/PC so there will be plenty of good MP available for years to come.
