      This app is okay, as I posted below, about as good as GH can be on a phone.

      But more importantly, Amazon gives away a paid app for free every day, so it's definitely worth the trouble to get the Amazon Appstore running on your phone. I've downloaded 100+ 'paid' apps this way already, some of my favourites include 'Akinator', 'Angry Birds Rio' (this was Amazon's first free app I think), 'Flight Control', 'Fruit Ninja', 'Gem Miner' (great little time waster), 'Plants vs Zombies', 'The Impossible Game' (if you like that sort of thing), 'The Moron Test', 'aniPet Marine Aquarium' (this is my live wallpaper), and many many others.

        Most of those games I have downloaded and played some other way.

        Only problem was the first time I did this was the old Amazon app always wanted to update. Was wondering whether you can use the up to date one and it will still work?

          I feel your pain. I read on some other forums that updating doesn't affect the free app download at all, have updated since then and can confirm it still works. It also mentioned some ways to buy apps legitimately with the account (can post if interested)

          Yeah, they can be annoying. I've updated the app before, and it didn't affect the ability to download free apps (or to use existing apps). There was a new update just a few days ago, and I haven't plucked up the courage to update yet.

    Thanks for the reminder. I usually download the daily free apps every day, but seems to have forgotten yesterday, despite this being one of the better free apps. Just downloaded, and it's as good as you can expect for a mobile version of GH.

      Strike that, actually I think this is today's deal. The daily free app is usually up 6pm our time, so it must have been up earlier today for some reason.

        I check it around 1pm each day as that is when it changes for me. Not sure the exact time they change it but it's definitely done by 1pm so you can check it then rather than waiting until 6pm if you want :P

          Strange, I usually check just before 6pm, and then just after it, and that's when it usually changes over. The countdown clock that's on now seems to show this app was made available at 5pm today, which makes more sense than 6pm since 5pm here is exactly midnight Pacific Time.

      You only need to make a "fake" amazon account ONCE, which takes 30 seconds to do. As opposed to searching and finding the correct files to crack an android app/game (if it isn't already cracked) and not to mention configuring your android to allow it to run unsigned applications.

      This coming from an iPhone JB user by the way.

          Thing is I'm not sure whether the method people are using here with fake details is a lot better. You are requesting a license to the software through the use of faked credentials. As far as I'm concerned that would mean the license isn't valid anyway given you aren't who you claim to be (IE a person with a US address and credit card).

          You get the software sure, but I'm unsure if I'd be prepared to say the license is any more valid than the pirate copy.

      I don't check the free app everyday, usually they're not worth the time. When a good app comes up, like today, I like to know about it. And I likely wouldn't have done if it weren't for it being posted here. Does it really hurt you to skim over a simple bargain? Didn't think so.

          Make sure you deregister the device from any existing (or legit) amazon accounts you may have, then login with the spoofed account. It's under Devices something something in your Amazon account panel

    I finally got it to work in Australia downloaded the app and found its only for Mobile devices not Tablets. When are Google going to fix their filtering for tablets and mobiles. This happens way too much that i find a good app but will not work on my Motorola Xoom, will give you a plus cause still a good find.

    This is a pretty sweet deal but I couldn't take advantage of it because ShoppingSquare has not yet sent out the Galaxy S II phones they sold a month ago. Argh!!! Sorry to be off topic.

    jesus, the amount of stuff you gotta go through to make the App Store work (CC details and such) they already have my details on hand, I won't enter them again, especially considering the lacklustre lost leader (GHero). Fail.
