  • They told me they are not a pharmacy when I went

    • +3

      There’s two types of their stores, some are pharmacies, the others are not,

      • What whhy

        • +9

          Reasons are frequently historic;
          1. there are/were artificial limitations on the number of pharmacies allowed in a geographical area (set by the pharmacy guild?). Rather than Priceline foregoing having a branch in a certain area they'll set one up that's not a pharmacy.
          2. I think initially they were focused on being more of a discount-ish store than a straight health/beauty store than now and so their niche has changed;
          3. Some of the stores are corporate, some are licencees (Frequently pharmacist liencees) and some clusters of stores are owned by distinct corporate licencees. Two examples of this is the 2 pricelines you find at Southland in Melbourne (one corporate one pharmacist), and the 3 that you find in the CBD on Bourke Street within 700m…one owned by a corporate licencee, one owned by corporate and the third owned by a pharmacist.

    Don't forget 10% off priceline e-gift @ entertainment book! (-1.25% for card surcharge)

  • That's not fair. No discount on Hair care

    So this is basically just the usually cosmetics sale that nearly every drugstore retailer has throughout the year considering the exclusive brands are all excluded or partially discounted?

    • I wouldn't call a 30% off on Napoleon a "usually". Admittedly the brands which they speicialise in appear to only be doing a 30% but I can't recall 30% off on elf & Nalpoleon to be a regular occurance.

      • -1

        Elf is regularly 50% off or more via their official Australian site. Napoleon are 30% during their makeup sales 2x (or more) a year at Priceline.

        • +2

          2x a year is not every other week. it's not "usual"

    pro tip : dont get your girl makeup from priceline lol

    • +3

      Both my SILs are makeup artists and use some Priceline brands in their own routines. Just like luxury brands can make duds, drug store brands can make good products. If you’re interested enough in your partner to find out what they currently use, this is a great deal to stock up!

      • +4

        Getting makeup for yourself is different to receiving gifts. You might buy homebrand stuff for yourself, but being gifted Homebrand stuff isn't exactly exciting.

    • Depends on the brand but yeah, better off getting one nice item from Sephora/Mecca than a few items from Priceline if it’s a gift.

  • They have 50% off these cosmetic brands every month at chemist warehouse

  • +1

    Some skincare is also on special too.
