    • 8 an 15 year warranty are so tempting…

      • It's a genuine warranty too. Officeworks are much better at accepting returns and generally just refund your purchase price.

    • Anyone has Stilford or Matric one? Want to get opinion for experience of owning them…like reliability, motor noise…etc, although it has years of warranty…but less hassle is better you know. Cannot find any reviews…

      • The Matrix has 2 reviews - one good, the other says because the controls are in the middle of the desk and cannot be moved, he is always bumping his knees on them….

In that case I would say raise the desk height - isnt that the whole point of a height adjustable desk????

Having read a number of people saying how unstable/shaky this thing is (OmniPro) I am gonna pass on it.

        • +1

Note that the Stilford is $599 for 150cm and $629 for 180cm.

$30 for the extra 30cm bump in size.

I think that is a clear indication that charging $100 for each ~30cm bump in size is simply price gouging by Omnipro.

        • Yea, also read that review yesterday. It is actually a good point. I might just go to OfficeWork and try it if they have one for demo. I also found ikea also has ones that strengthen the legs:
          https://www.ikea.com/au/en/catalog/products/S29280991/
But it is pricey although comes with 10 year warranty.

        • I just went to OfficeWork and checked both. The Matrix one's motor is set up in the middle toward to the seat….I would believe the user's review could happen… I am wondering if the motor can be set up backward.

          • @arst: I went to Officeworks too today - Kotara

They had the Matrix electric, the Matrix manual height adjust and the Stilford electric.

At full extension the Stilford definitely wobbles.

I am leaning towards the cheaper option of the manual Matrix or even just a plain old desk.

            • @aussietivoman: I also went to Oworks and didn't like any of the offerings so I'm looking at the plain old desk path myself, I'm looking at the Rapid Span desk which is sold by a lot of companies and it's only about $40-$50 to upgrade to an 1800mm one, not $200. The reason I'm looking at that one in particular is the supports are near the back so I can install a keyboard tray and it's not so far back that I can't mount my monitor arms. I can't seem to find the desk I want so I'm just going to screw things on and drill holes where I want.

              Shelf $16.60

              Keyboard slide $27.89

              PC mount $40.29

And the metal modesty screen on the desk will make it easy to do cable management, so I can have a lot of stuff and end up with a really clean look. Should get change from $400 and do what I want.

              • @bxpressiv: In the plain old desk department at Officeworks I thought the $238 Matrix looked good for the money - very similar in appearance to the Rapid Span you have linked above.

The guy in-store was pushing me towards the slightly more expensive $289 Stilford S2 Pro as he said it was more stable and also has the support bar in the middle so less likely to sag in the centre over time. The Stilford has a range of colour options, I liked the white/black/black

                https://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/p/stilford-s…

The reason I am upgrading my desks is that they both have noticeable sags in the centre of them - if you put a marble on one end it would roll to the centre and then a little bit up the other side, then back down again.

Also both desks have veneer covering the mdf and the veneer is coming off on the sides.

With say the Matrix or Stilford, if the veneer/covering on the ends comes off in 6 years time, new desk! Not bad….

                • @aussietivoman: Stilford is a no go for me because the bars will get in the way of all the stuff I plan to mount underneath. I'll go back and have a lok at the other one, all the ones I looked at didn't really fit my needs. The Rapid Span might not either, I haven't seen one in person.

                • @aussietivoman: If you are going to get one without motor…mine is the one from ikea:
                  https://www.ikea.com/au/en/catalog/products/S39282678/
It has middle support which is very solid you can see from the pictures, like a rectangle shape.
After 2 and half years I am still happy with it. It comes with 10 year warranty but I don't know the TnC.

    • Even people go nut over this deal, after your comment all I see is there are competition in the market, prices will reduce more in future.

  • Owner of this desk here (XL size, black, straight edge, sit stand) and it's pretty damn good. Feel free to ask me any questions if you want to know more.

    • how durable is the top desk, is it laminate? does it stain?

      • Not sure if it's laminate, but it's pretty heavy and feels solid. I assembled the whole thing myself and based on the pre-drilled screw holes at the back of the desktop, it doesn't look like laminate (but still I'm not pro so not 100% sure). The desktop has a matt finish and I would say it looks like something abrasive blasting so it looks and feels quite premium. I drink juice and monster cans while surfing or playing games. It doesn't stain and very easy to clean any drops.

      • I believe its the melamine finish.

    • I always had sliding keyboard shelf under my desk with a cable going under the desk top.
The mouse was always on top of the desk "overlapping" the keyboards.

      With Omnidesk
      1. I will have to move mouse further to the right to fit the keyboard.
      2. I will get keyboard cable on top of the desk.
      3. I will have to find matching drawer cabinet to put next to/under Omnidesk. :)

How are you dealing with these issues? :)

      • +1

Well, I don't use sliding shelf for keyboard so issues 1 and 2 are gone, although there will be part of the keyboard cable on top of the desk. I don't care about it much. Besides, I have no drawer or storage underneath my desk especially for a sit stand one, so personally I don't have all these issues :) Sorry can't help much with your concerns.

      • Just install another shelf.

    • How shakey is it at full extended height??

      • +1

Well, it wobbles very little when fully extended. I tested back and forth and in general it feels pretty solid and gave me a lot of confidence. I also sat on it right in the middle (I'm 76Kg) and let the desk push me up and down, no issues at all.

    • Hi there. Have you by any chance ever compared the OmniDesk to the Officeworks equivalent? Quality, overall build and feel etc.

Quality is so hard to measure for something I've never seen or used, but the overwhelming response is that the Omnidesk is top notch. Just wondering how it measures up against others that are cheaper.

      • I did go to IKEA and Officeworks to check those display desks before I made my purchase. And in a nutshell, personally, they're no where near this one in terms of quality and looking.

  • +6

There HAS TO BE a discount code that can be applied on the Omnidesk site for a further reduction or free shipping….

Have to say that $200 to goto the XL sized desktop is a complete rip-off. Also $399 + delivery for a 120cm electric desk seems a little overpriced - and that's 51% off…

  • +1

What's 100 Day Free Trial? What's involved if do not like the product?

    • +1

I agree, can't find the details on the web site.

If it can be returned for a full refund, makes it well worth considering…

    • From here:

We offer a 100 day trial period. If you aren't sold on your Omnidesk and your newly reimagined space by Day 100 - return it back to us. You will get a full refund - even with a used desk. We will even pick it up for free in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane & Adelaide.

  • +1

I already have a 72" durable desk, can I just buy the legs and motor and attach?

  • +1

There's no option to add on a powerbar strapped to the underside of the desk… does that come as automatic?

  • How much is delivery? Site won’t say

    • $50 dollars for me to ship it to Canberra

    • If you click on the question mark next to the "Flat Pack Delivery" under "Delivery Options" it tells you.
$50 to VIC, NSW, ACT and SA
$100 to WA, NT, QLD and TAS

  • Thanks OP. Bought one.

  • So devastated. Was in the market for a standing desk for ages and wanted one of these but couldn't justify the price… so opted with the cheaper eBay option. Never thought they would do 50% off… spewing.

    • Which EBAY option did you go for, and how are you finding it?

      • It literally arrived yesterday and I am just in the process of putting it together. Avante sit/stand desk is the one I went with. will report back!

        • how is it :)

          • @fez: Hey. Just got my desk set up with my PC etc on it today. Seems to be a nice unit with a day of use. Goes up and down quite quickly maybe 15 seconds from sitting to standing and minimal noise, nothing that would bother you.

The one thing I am very curious on is how people have customized these if they have tried to mount things like, power board, PC, subwoofer etc under the desk - is drilling into it okay?

  • Just curious how does the Omnidesk compare to Zen space Desk?

  • I too am looking into a desk like this for work/gaming. XL seems like overkill for me and I wouldn't want sagging in the middle. I'm just wondering what was the original price for the Large? Does it actually have a discount?

    • +1

I have a 10kg monitor (Asus PG349Q, 34' ultra wide) put right in the middle (mine a XL one, sit stand) and I can tell you it doesn't sag, or say in a very reasonable limit like 2 mm at most. I feel quite confident about it. And this is a real deal, I ordered by the end of July and payed a hundred some more for it.

  • Seems like the American Omnidesk is giving away free delivery, mounted powerbar and cable management bar. Wonder if there's any chance of them matching on Friday? https://www.facebook.com/theomnidesk/

  • Hey guys nice post ty
But why when i press check out total goes from $399-$699
    Its like a $300 check
out is stuck in the cart or something
    Anyone else having this problem
    Thanks

All good i worked it out something wasnt deleting from cart used firefox

Does anyone have the curved edge model?

  • How heavy a table top will these take? Any strain on the motor though if it just stays still even if table top is heavy.

  • -4

How does this have so many upvotes? Are people actually paying $500 for a desk?

  • Bummer…
Their monitor arms can support up to 8kg. My monitor 9.3kg.

    • +1

should be fine. my arm and monitor is similar to that and i dont have issues

    • Just buy a monitor arm from somewhere that supports the heavier weight.

  • thanks OP, ive been watching Omnidesk and Zenspace desks and finally bit the bullet on this one due to it being on sale :)

  • This deal is going to take a very large amount of restraint.

  • I have the desk and would not recommend…wobbles a lot when using in stand position and they have a horrible delivery service.

    • What wobbles? The table top or the frame?
Does your desk sit on carpet or hard floor?

      • wouldn't be the table top since that is bolted to frame. So like most standing desks, the wobble is caused by high center of gravity when lots of weight on desk. The ikea $750 version has attempted to reduce this with the extra supports on each leg.

  • +1

Been in the lookout for sit / stand motorized desk for a while.

How does this compare to Officeworks desk? 48" (1200mm basic desk won't suit my needs and needs to go with 60" (1500mm) version which is about 500 + delivery. Officeworks has 1500x700 for $399 + delivery or free pick up and whopping 8 years warranty.

p.s. I have been using officeworks matrix desk for 3+ years (fixed, non adjustable) and am really happy with it. Its very sturdy and easy to clean.
    Thanks for any info.

    • I would like to know this too. Officeworks one is cheaper with better warranty

    • Go into Officeworks and check them out in store.

I did yesterday, thought they both wobble quite a lot at full height extension.

  • Are all sizes exactly the same apart from the table top? If I get the small version and change the top myself are the legs adjustable in width?

    • +1

Yes. Exact same legs on all of them. They’re completely adjustable.

  • +2

I have the XL version of this desk and honestly not thrilled with it.

i don't consider the quality as great as others in here.

There is noticeable sag in the middle with dual monitors. The desk wobbles at standing height. The edges scuff easily.

    I regret getting it.

    • Jesus. Not good.

    • Does it have a cross bar?

    • Interesting that you point out the wobbles happen at standing height.

Some of the others havent mentioned this, but they perhaps arent using it at the extended height.

I guess it makes sense that 2 small metal bars going all the way up arent going to be as steady as they would be at a much lower level.

      • At first I thought I hadn't assembled it properly - so my (extremely handy) father in law & myself disassembled it and reassembled from scratch but still exact same.

I rarely raise it these days.

  • Definitely standing is the way to go for people with acne in / around their buttholes!😅😂

    • U got hems bro?

      • Nah. Didn't want to sound alien 👾😂

        • +1

you're already alien when your name is talking about nondeterministic polynomial :p

Does anyone have this? how does it compare to the Omnidesk?

    • +1

Don't have it but I am not convinced with 1 yr warranty. Rather spend extra money for others.

    • I'd look at the Matrix 1500mm from Officeworks instead of the Artiss.

8 year warranty, cheaper. Only 1 motor.

      https://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/p/matrix-exe…

The Artiss is strange in that the thickest part of the legs is actually at the TOP of the legs - every other brand has the thick part at the bottom.

I would have thought that makes it less stable than the rest…

  • What other similar desks are available on the market at the high end? Which company has better desks?

  • I thought these guys were banned for Sockpuppeting? AftershockPC & omnidesk share the same phone numbers and address….lol

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/deals/aftershockpc.com.au

    • They look good but 1 year warranty for a motorised desk. Nope

      • My invoice says 5 year warranty

  • Trying to buy this, but when click Add To Cart, the wheel just keeps turning and nothing happens.

Anyone else having the same issue?

    • +1

Same, today they have increased the price by $100 on each of the sizes.

  • +1

If anyone was interested, Bunnings have 1800x750 merbau hardwood benchtops for $129, perfect size for the desk (600 isn't deep enough). They are a promotion, just picked one up at hoppers crossing Bunnings, not all stores have them though. Definetly will make this desk look amazing.

    • -1

Why not just get a dual motor desk from Ebay, save your money not paying for the desk if you are going to install your own…

  • Is it still a good deal at $499 + delivery?

Really bummed that I didn't order on the weekend.

  • Heh, supposed to be running till Dec 5th…
    I was thinking too much.
    Looks like I just saved $400 :)

  • Anyone taken delivery yet? Looks like I'll have to wait for 3 weeks for this to arrive when it was previously stated 5-9 days :(

    • Havent recieved any other emails besides the original order confirmation.

      • I'm pretty annoyed at them. When I placed the initial order, it said my desk would arrive in 6-9 days. Then a couple of days later I received an email confirming this. I understand this was posted on Ozbargain and then this surged orders, but I don't really understand how they didn't attribute a stock number to the number of desks they had, and then stopped orders when that level was reached - I'm assuming they didn't do this so that you could get as many orders as possible and then backorder the stock. I was told they had more stock of the larger sizes but I didn't appreciate the upsell attempt either.

        • -2

Are you going to be OK?

  • +1

    Well, this says it all

Our Black Friday sales have been an overwhelming success – Thankyou very much for choosing an Omnidesk to reimagine your space!

We are very proud of the product that we have, and customers love it. We thought that we would go a little crazy with our pricing for Black Friday and get our great products noticed.

It worked! A little too well…

Our team are a hardworking, dedicated and growing bunch who really care about getting your desk to you as soon as possible! Unfortunately we are still a small team.

The massive volume of sales managed to cripple our inventory system. Due to this we are having to process your orders the manual old school way. Also the inventory system triggered backorder notifications for table tops, but not the legs.

We do our best to get our desks delivered to people within our 5-9 business days. However, in this instance there will be longer processing delays than this if you got in before stock ran out, and further delays for those who have backordered stock.

The processing times are more likely to be 5-15 business days for those orders we have in stock. We have already got a very large number of desks out.

There are a few options that you have:

Quite a number of people have actually requested later delivery times as they wanted to lock in the great prices, but don’t require their desk till much later. If you wish to delay your delivery until Feb please let us know ASAP.
If your Table Top has been backordered, you may choose to upgrade your table top to an Ergo Curve for $80 (down from $100), an XL for $160 (down from $200), or an XL Curve for $240 (down from $300). This may allow us to get your order shipped earlier.
If you have purchased after the Legs ran out, we are happy to fulfil as soon as new stock comes in. Currently expected to ship out to you in mid Feb. As a small bonus, these new legs are slightly upgraded.
If none of these options work, and you are unwilling to wait, we are happy to process a full refund.

These crazy prices are very unlikely to ever occur again, so rest assured that your patience will both be greatly appreciated and greatly rewarded!

We are working double time to get it all sorted for you. Thankyou!

    Regards

    The Omnidesk Australia Team

    • Was this in regards to the table being purchased during the $399 price , or the last few days where they increased it to $499?

Tried asking before 5th december for the $399 but they did not budge :(

      • This was during $399 price.

  • Has anyone received their orders? I ordered the large desk 27th at 730pm and still haven't received it. I'm wondering when we will receive our orders with the christmas period being a busy period for courier companies.

    • Last email I got was as per the above post by csmacd. Ordered the XL on 27th. No tracking or any other updates received.

      • Same here, ordered the large desk to avoid back order and now they wanted another $80 to go XL or curved. Spend extra $80 or saving $549?

        • +1

Even if you upgraded to the XL top you would have to wait, I emailed them and they advised they are waiting for stock to arrive towards the end of next week. Im guessing it would probably be for the legs as the XL top is still showing in stock.

          • +1

@KH41: seems like no one got their tables?

I ordered on the 27th at 11pm and last i was informed is sometime Jan delivery

            :(

            • +1

@jOlv: This is the response I got when i contacted them last week.

"We are just waiting on our next shipment of stock to come in which should arrive towards the end of next week. As soon as we receive this shipment we will be able to process your order for delivery.

Expect to have your order delivered towards the middle/end of December"

  • +2

I sent them an email asking for an update after they said the desk would be sent out, still haven't recieved the desk.

When they responded to my email they tried to upsell me upgrades to get it out to me faster, however I know that it made no difference to anyone that has done so thus far. Not sure how you can take money when you have no inventory, they are just reselling from Alibaba so expect the delay to be months and the customer service/warranty to be just as painful (you only get one year warranty). Going to ask for refund, hope you guys get yours quicker because of it :P

    • Mine says 5 year warranty on my invoice

  • So has anyone actually received their table yet? I ordered before the orders got back ordered but I'm still waiting for mine, which hasn't even been shipped yet.
