Tacx T2800 NEO Smart Trainer $1274.99 @ Pushys

BLACK15

Really good price for Tacx neo. These are a great trainer.

Or tacx neo2 here: https://www.pushys.com.au/tacx-neo-2-direct-drive-smart-trai… $1359.

Original Deal from Jessie Ryder here: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/499643

This Tacx T2800 NEO Smart Trainer offers the best in power and intelligence. It is currently the quietest indoor trainer available and is the first true direct drive because there are no physical transmissions. Road feel is simulated realistically with no loss of power. The motor is able to apply resistance of up to 2200 Watt and simulate slopes by up to 25% and will speed up during descents. This ensures the most realistic cycling experience including climbs.

This trainer requires no calibration and suffers no wear and tear. Just like other Smart trainers, the NEO communicates using ANT+ and Bluetooth Smart, allowing it to be connected quickly and easily with Tacx apps. Performance data can be viewed on several devices simultaneously, including your smartphone, bike computer and sports watch. When not connected it behaves as a fluid trainer and behaves progressively: when your speed increases, the resistance increases, enabling the use of this trainer in a “stand-alone” status.

The Tacx NEO features Plug in/Plug out technology so can be used with and without a plug. When the plug is not in use, the trainer will act as a wireless motor brake and the trainer will be not be able to speed up during descents. This trainer can be used anytime and anywhere even when you don’t have your smartphone at hand

  • Free shipping code doesn't stack with the Black15 code.
And trainers are considered large / bulky item and calculated (through your address / postcode) when you checkout.

Thx, I have updated title. I don't want to mislead anyone.

They do state in the description "*****THIS PRODUCT IS NOW FREE SHIPPING FOR A LIMITED TIME*****" and I took a test purchase through to PayPal payment screen and shipping was free. I didn't purchase as I already own a Neo. Not sure what is going on.

Sorry, you are actually correct.. think I tried it with another smart trainer instead hence the shipping fees. Tried it like you said, and came out free. Apologies!

  • I am relatively new to road cycling - started in May and bought a new carbon bike with Shimano 105 and caliper brakes for $1300. I was just wondering if it's crazy that I'd be spending almost as much on one of these trainers? Or would I be wasting my money buying a cheaper alterative trainer (or rollers even)?

Also, is there anything I need to be aware of in terms of fit/size - I presume these trainers would be able to fit any road bikes? E.g. if I decide to upgrade/switch to a road bike with disc brakes in the distant future, would these trainers be able to fit such a bike?

    Thanks!

Funny story time: I just bought clip-in pedals the other week and still getting used to them - got to a roundabout this arvo on my commute home and was hoping I wouldn't need to unclip (dumb thought since it was rush hour and there was no way I could rush through the roundabout)… and promptly fell over whilst struggling to unclip. So embarrassing. :S

I also got cut off by a bus this morning - it honked at me from behind and then proceeded to merge into me in the bike lane to stop at a bus stop. Caught it all on my GoPro!

    Pretty eventful day eh?

I am glad you made it home and had a laugh about it :) You have to assume that drivers can't see you on the road and always be prepared to get out of their way.

I am just a casual rider. I did a fair bit of research before buying a trainer. Here are the key take outs of what I found out:
      - The rollers apparently wear out your tires really quickly.
      - Cheaper trainers don't offer the resistance of high end trainers
      - The Wahoo was noisier. But the latest version advertises that it is quiet. This is the only other trainer I seriously considered.
      - I mostly use the trainer and don't get on the road that much and so I wanted a good experience. Zwift paired with a good trainer is a lot of fun. Giving you some of the same experiences as on the road, racing other riders, attacking a hill, group rides, etc. (But getting outside is always better)
      - The Tacx Neo has road sense. So you actually feel the different road surfaces such as cobble stones, planks and dirt.
      - Any bike will fit onto a trainer. Just ensure you use a cluster that could go on your wheel as it needs to match with the rest of your drive train.

You get what you pay for. If you plan to use a trainer a lot, then I think it is worth spending the money. If you just want to use it when the weather is bad, then you don't need to spend this much.

        Thanks mate! Very informative stuff!

Here's the GoPro clip uploaded on YouTube of me almost being run over by the bus yesterday morning (funnily enough, it's the bus I would've taken if I wasn't cycling…):

        • Oh My Goodness!!! That was close. If it were me, I would be writing a complaint to the council, because that driver at the very least needs more training and a strong talking to.
