Don't trust Crumpler's discounts. In 2017, a friend bought a bag with 25% off at a Crumpler store in Sydney, checked their website after at home, the same bag was the same RRP price without discount…

  • I really don't understand the hype behind crumpler. Any one care to explain how they are better than Samsonite?

I have a few crumpler bags - Backpack, Laptop Messenger, Camera Bag. Love them all - great quality materials - durable and weatherproof, stylish too. Haven't had a suitcase so can't compare to samsonite

This Reddit Post, explain Crumpler Bags.

TLDR: Crumpler bags made pre-2010 are a lot better quality compared to today's.

Crumpler (at least, claim to) have a lifetime warranty on all products. That means that even if it ripped, or came apart somehow, 20 years from now, they would repair and/or replace the bag.

Samsonite, in my experience, have a much more standard warranty (1-2 yrs, not including wear & tear), and I have had two of their bags fail in one way or another in that timeframe. I did get a replacement bag the first time, but I ended up hating it, and just went back to the original bag. And when that bag had further issues, I just repaired them myself (stitched the zip back on).

Not for the new bags unfortunately, they are now 5 years warranty. Luggage is even worse with limited warranty.

        • Just an update, it doesnt mean they dont make awesome bags anymore. my crumpler bags are still good and going strong. Im just slightly more careful how i handle them now.

        • Correction as I looked it up on the website (which I could have sworn they used to have 5 years warranty).

Here is the latest link for warranty and its still lifetime (which is great!)

But with luggages I do know they do not cover ripped fabrics with luggages, only zippers, wheels and buckles.

      1. They're good quality bags, I expect mine to last a lifetime. Comfortable, well thought out, interesting designs, and good quality materials and workmanship.
      2. They're for a different market and purpose to Samsonite, I see Crumpler as more of a daily bag, Samsonite more for air travel, with some overlap.
      3. Crumpler bags are made in Australia, this is a good thing. (Edit: actually not sure if their factory is still in Australia)
      • Actually its now made in China. I checked even my oldest crumpler bag back in 2005, it was already made in china already then.

        • Thanks for the info - sorry I had it wrong. And I'm dissapointed there aren't many Australian made products to choose from.

          • @eDust: It's Australian designed still. Quality is still good in my opinion.

  • I tried the discount code on an already reduced bag. Says "invalid Coupon code"

  • Cannot sort by price. It tries to, but stays there for ever. Who designed the website?

Im going to point out a few bags worth considering a look

    1. Zero Border Daypack - from $199 to $96.75 (roughly 50% off)- its a small daybag 17L capacity with hydration pack and sleeves for bottles and umbrella. Its actually double the capacity of my old LLA Daypack bag so I think its not bad of a deal

    1. Zero Border Backpack - from $299 to $149.25 (roughly 50% off) - its the big brother of the daypack. Has a 30L capacity and a hidden sleeve for the water bottle (not obvious in the photos but you can see if in the youtube video). Capacity is nearly double and it has a smart sleeve for travelers with luggages which I thought its a good feature. It used to be only a feature available for laptops.

I actually got one and quality is not bad in terms of materials and fabric. Its not the toughest bag that can withstand a beating though. Not advised for check-in in airports.

    1. Zero Border Duffle Bag - $249 to $111.75 (nearly 55% off) - duffle bag of the zero border range. its spacious 50L but no wheels so can only carry on the shoulder. Fabric similar to the other Zero Border Bag range

    1. Happy Place bag - from $249 to $111.75 (nearly 55% off) - its a unique bag with water bottle and umbrella storage. It has several access to the main compartment. Good daypack with 25L storage to use as well. Fabric look to be sturdier than the Zero Border Backpacks. I havent seen it yet but looks to be similar to whats being used in the messenger range. In description 1050D weatherproof codra construction. Honestly better durability than most bags there.

    1. Plog - from $169 to $74.25 (up to 50+% off) - perfect beach bag because the fabric is " vege-leather tabs and malleable neoprene". Neoprene is what scuba divers wear in the suit.

    2. Vis-A-Vis Cabin Matte 55cm - from $249 to $111.75 (nearly 55% off) - Only a luggage I would recommend to use on roadtrips. If you want to do carry on I give a warning that its already heavy with 4kg without any luggage yet in it. The external material isnt good as well in the check-in carousel hence the heavy discount. Put it in a single trip and feels like it came out 10 years older. Check reviews.
