    Great product. If you want to be a hack like me - buy a cordless jigsaw and use the foam massage attachments from ebay. Not pretty but it works

      This is a popular option on Reddit/Crossfit forums!

  • Have been looking at these and cheaper options but seems most of the cheaper ones have less of a punch and just more of a vibration. Anyone know if there really are any true comparible ones?

    • -1

      There are lots of alternatives, depending on how much you want to pay, and where you want to buy them from.

      Take a look at:
      * hyperice
      * booster (many varieties, top of the line are the booster pro 2 & 3)
      * xiaomi yunmai (yes xiaomi have one)
      * pheonix
      * tezewa
      * jigsaw with attachment as above
      * generic $100 ebay one

      • Except none of these are comparable to the G3Pro.

        • Can you elaborate? I have a "generic" one.

        • dunno why people are downvoting

          main difference is noise

      100% worth it, especially at this price - I'd recommend buying it for sure. I have one and it has done wonder for me!

    • I've been trying to find comparisons too.

      Hey for what it's worth I use these for work (Exercise Physiologist): https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Massage-Gun-Percussion-Massager-…

      Heaps of my client's have gone on to buy their own and tell me how great they are. That being said, I haven't used a Theragun G3Pro and went for this specific one because it's extremely quiet compared to DIY and Theragun versions (I commonly use it around client's necks) and the lowest settings seem most appropriate (I rarely go beyond the first setting).

      I own 3 of them, 2 for on the go and 1 for my gym. The batteries last me hours of use.

      • Is this the same seller you have bought?

        Just searched ebay and seems there's so many variants that suggests there may be a fake ones around.

        • Yes that's the seller I bought from. Most of these designs are heavily inspired by the "Hypervolt". Some so much so that the manual actually says "Hypervolt".

          I've even bought the new version with the touch display. While it looks better and the higher degree of control over the power (1-20 stages vs 1-4 on the original), the touch functionality can be very annoying due to accidental touches. So I'd advise going for the button version if you are seeking to use it on yourself.

          If you'd like to support Hypervolt, as they came up with the design. You can buy it here, from their website, for $600 https://hyperice.com.au/products/hypervolt?variant=277419147…
          (please note that they have had stock issues for months - which was the initial reason I turned to eBay)

  • I have a Ronix. Similar device. Apparently just as powerful but noisier. Really good devices as a concept.

    • Looked into Ronix looks good can you give yoir opinion on its use?

      • +1

        Bloody loud. But it's extremely effective. In fact, it's difficult to go back to anything else. I put my headphones on and slam away. Nothing else is as effective.

  • I was wondering how these compare to the $85-115 units on AliExpress.

    I've seen a few reviews with people who bought both and said the copies are pretty good bang for buck! I can live with something if it's even 50% as good but 1/5th of the price.

  • Damn that expensive! Dont the Chinese already make one of these under $150?

    Big price to pleasure yourself! Must need to do miracles hahaha

    • I noticed the copies on AliExpress seem powerful, but the strokes are 12mm, and these Theragun are 16mm stroke.

      • If you are looking for a 16mm alternative

      • will you feel the extra 4mm? ;)

  • -1

    I think everyone is missing the point here - the cheap alternatives don't use percussive therapy and the stall force is also 60 lbs for the g3pro. Check the specifications before you make a decision on your purchase.

    • What is percussive therapy? Maybe you could find us something similar , as you understand the specs? :P

      Honestly, I'm not expecting the same for 1/5th of the price but I can't justify $550+. I'm happy to spend around $100-150 and if it's 50-75% as good I'd be content with that.

    • -3

      Yeah this is exactly why I'm struggling to find a real comparison. People think all massage guns work the same way.

      • I don't think that, however I feel you can get a decent product for $100, instead of spending $550.

        Not everyone can afford a Ferrari, so people buy a C63 or something. $550 is alot of money, so can't blame us for looking for something cheaper but effective.

        :)

          Soz, that was meant to go under aligind4h0us3's reply. A lot of the cheaper ones work by mostly vibration and does not have the punch like Theragun does. So they're going to be quite different in terms of sensation.

    • +3

      Mate seriously, you need to re-read your post. Percussive therapy is a BS term for percussion. Percussion is impact. All these devices function using impact force. You will never press hard enough in practise to stall any of these devices unless they are a toy, so the stall force is also a BS measure. You've drunk the coolade and have left logic and reason in its wake.

      I'm not arguing against the Theragun. No doubt it is a quality product. I'm suggesting that the competitive products mostly perform the same function at a fraction of the cost. I have a diy version using a Worx jigsaw/reciprosaw using eBay attachments and the thing is a beast. Aldi had a similar one recently for about $70 I think. I'd be looking for those and buying the $20 eBay attachment set before I'd drop the bomb on the Theragun, unless I was a professional and could write it off on tax. Or maybe the one posted by @Sir Flabo above.

        Except you're wrong. Percussion vs vibration is different and most massage guns use vibration and not percussion.

        Also, look up on youtube comparisons and you'll see that stall force is actually an issue for majority of these imitation massage guns and that you can't get the same effect that you can with the g3pro. Reality is, this device is expensive but it pays for itself with what you get out of it.

        • What about the G3 or liv are they any good in your opinion? Id be willing to part woth $300…

          • +1

            @corksta: Can't speak for them as I only own the g3pro but can definitely recommend it and well worth the money.

  • -1

    probably top up a little bit more for hyperice newly launch hypervolt plus

  • -1

    Can this be used on any other parts of the body?
    My friend wants to know……impressed with the 75min battery life 😉

  • -1

    does it really help?

  • I am currently using a Beurer MG70. Will it be worth getting one of these as an upgrade? I work out frequently and get muscle soreness afterwards.

  • The jigsaw option WORKX brand is the go and will suffice.

    I have been to seminars with some of the strongest people who have ever lived and Olympuc Lifting champions and they don't use them.

    But if you want the latest fad toy and price is not a concern, By all means.

    • Thanks bud and thanks OP.Got one. I have tried cheaper alternatives so many times that now I realise almost 80% of the time it is better to get the real deal straight up for something that you really need or really know you are going to use.

      • They're sold out of g3pro :(

        • Wow looks like I got the last one..Mind you it was on back order they didnt have any stock when I ordered

          • @shaidas: seems they are on backorder now. shipping from 12 dec it says on their site

  • +8

    They are $484.49 is you purchase from Pushys using promo code "black15" valid for 2 more days.

    Just bought one

    https://www.pushys.com.au/theragun-g3-pro-massage-device.htm…

  • can anybody tell me if the device is loud when in use?

    • It definitely is louder compared to the other devices I have listed. G3pro is 70-75 dBA or similar to a vacuum cleaner.

      Video for comparison VS hypervolt 3:25.
