"Offer ends midnight the 3rd December 2019 (AEST)."

I'll wait on the 29th just in case current cash back increases.

Missed opportunity to call it "Black eye sale"

I've generally found Quicklens to be cheaper for my contacts, code BLFI is 15% off on orders over $78.

QuickLenses is cheaper but only if you don't have private heath care cover.

If you have private health, this works out cheaper with their refund.

      • Right, what sort of refund do you get on contact lenses? I've never had private health insurance…

        • HCF does 100% on Mid Extras up to $200

          • @thydzik: How much it cost a year?

            • +1

@capslock janitor: for a single with the full tax rebate $4.90 per week or $256.30 yearly.

              • @thydzik: Wait, I'm confused. I checked the HCF Mid Extras > under 'Glasses and contact lenses' it says the annual limit is $200. But specifically on the contact lenses it says the 'indicative benefit' amount is $140. I'm unsure of what this meant?

Either way, thanks for sharing us this. It would be good to have this private insurance extras considering there are others included for ~$256 pa.

@DardyMate: I had a look at the policy.

The indicative benefit amount is the max paid per item.
I.e. you contact lenses pair needs to be less than $140 a pair, else there will be a gap.
since a pair with specsavers is less then $140 you will be fine claiming the full $140 per pair.
You can definitely claim up to $200 per year.

The other thing i love about the HCF extras is that you get 2 free dental checks, clean and scale a year and 1 free fluoride treatment.

                  • @thydzik: Pretty good for $256 pa. I'll have more look onto it. Thanks thydzik!

      • Damn that is way cheaper. Fuuuuuu!

  • Don't forget cashrewards

  • My total just adds up to $195. Fml. If I add another box $39, the percentage of discount goes down too much
