Anybody Regretting Not Buying a Bargain?

Sadly I was looking for a particular tool today and when I did a quick google search, I saw that it had been listed on OzBargain about 6 months ago. I remember seeing that bargain at the time but thought "nah… I don't need that". Fast forward 6 months later and I just paid full price for the exact same item and now I feel like i should hand in my OzBargain membership.

Can somebody please share a similar story that will make me feel better about my situation?

BTW I only would have saved about $15… but this pain is real!!

Much more regret from buying things unnecessarily than missing out.

I agree. Buying something impulsively, then seeing it at a much cheaper price later and never using the item hurts a lot more, and happens more often than missing out on a bargain.

  • Re-evaluate life choices if missing out on $15 saving from 6 months ago is causing you 'pain' and worthy of a rubbish post seeking validation from others.

That last comment was made in Jest… but i'm glad the fun police arrived to keep the internet safe. Thanks for your service!

Yeah, I regret not getting the DJI Mavic at bunnings that one time

    • Didn't get to check OzB in time, or decided not to make the purchase?

      • Didn't wanna dump it on the credit card lol

    • Unlucky!! Even I jumped on that one lol

    • Agreed, out of all the price errors that's the one I happened to miss… and on the day I am actually home :(
But yes, if I was able to buy it I would have and if I didn't I most likely would have regretted it
Anyway have moved on from that.

Basic economic problem : Too many bargains, too little resources…

Or no room left to store them :-(

Same thing, not enough resources to buy a bigger place.

    Rarely.
I tend to wait for bargains to re-surface if I miss out.
Look at deals like Adidas Ultraboosts, the deal is re-occurring so I don't feel bad for missing out.

There are always some that you miss by a small margin, but ultimately the less you buy the more you save.

Once upon a time, maybe, but now I realize that its impossible to make decisions on information you didn't have at the time. I'm sure that in the future to come, you will realize there was an even better way to do it. Maybe you could have used gift cards? Or got it second hand? Or maybe in a year someone will even offer it to you for free!

There's no telling how things will go. If your needing a tool, and you're willing to pay full price if you have to, then it's evidentially worth the cost.

  • To offset the pain look at what you save from DIY compared to calling a tradie $$$.

  • Yes. I missed buying ergobaby carrier from this deal now I am trying to find a deal for it but looks like will have to pay much more for it

  • I couldn't take advantage of any of those UK ebay codes, to buy cheap gift cards. They just didn't work for me, no matter how hard I tried.

I am still extremely bitter & resentful about this. 😑🀬😭🍺🍺🍺🍺😡😑

Many many years ago when I was 9 years old I was at Forges, Footscray and they were selling Cherry Ripe Ice-cream bars. We could buy bars as singles, or a box of 20 for $12. I said to my mum, let's buy a box, and then the lady grabbed, not a box, but a carton, inclusive of 6 boxes, 120 bars! Cherry Ripe was my fav' choc bar of all time, and I also love ice-cream!. I said to my mum, 'OMG buy it!' as I had a suspicion it was a pricing error, but my mum decided to then consider the price of each bar, and after a few minutes consideration, another staff member came along and said 'Oh no, that's a carton, not a box', and we ended up buying a box of 12 because we were too slow in making a commitment.

      Damn that one stings.

  • Always, but it fades over time.

  • I regret did not buy or couldn't buy the drone from Bunnings

I entered a binding agreement to never pay full price on any item, ever.

  • Every time I miss a 7-Eleven 98 for 91 deal.
Missing the 12% off CR eBay deal last week because I thought I was going to win an auction a day later (spoiler alert: I didn't)
Missed far too many eBay UK gift card deals.

I went absent from OzBargain for around 4 years, all of the deals I missed then!

Eneloops. Didn't stockpile enough at DSE going-out-of-business prices.
