Not sure. They have a few models that run Android. Perhaps they'd be smoother than their own OS?
Probably specific to a model. My dads got the OLED model and the wifi is great and the apps don't freeze at all for him.
How is your dad's Hisense OLED?
I have a Hisense and running Wifi 5Ghz.. No problem at all. Only thing to note is that the frequency has to be in a certain range on the router else the TV doesn't pick up 5Ghz.
Thanks guys. Another question (may be it's a dumb one lol), Is Hisense R8 better than Samsung RU8000? Though I did my research on Samsung and have planned to buy RU8000 (as I game often with Xbox 1x). I dont find enough details on Hisense R8 to compare it with RU8000. But, on paper the R8 seems to be better than Samsung.
If R8 is better, do you guys suggest to wait till black friday? I am not sure if the prices will drop lower than this.
Go the R8 mate, has qled tech. Price will soften, has been under 2k before
Thank you
Based on pure panel specs, yes. It has Quantum Dots and edge lit local dimming. It's also possibly brighter but we don't have anyway of knowing that for sure.
The RU8000 on the other hand has a better supported smart TV platform, proven low input lag, freesync and ALLM support as well as better video processing to ensure a more accurate, better quality image with a wide range of sources.
For the uninitiated, what does freesync do/bring?
For sources which support it (Xbox One X and PCs) it allows the refresh rate of the display to sync with the frame rate of the source.
The end result is a super smooth gaming presentation even when frame rates are varying or dipping.
@tp0: Thanks!
The Hisense R8 has quantam dot as well as local dimming, which the Samsung doesn't have.
Is there another series above R8 or does it go to OLED?
Hisense's R series (2019 model) goes up to R9. However I believe that Hisense will not be releasing R9 in Australia this year, so after R8 will the top of this series in Australia.
Hisense 75R8 ($2000 on this deal) or Sony 65X9500G ($2000 cheapest in ozbargain history)?
FIGHT!
It's up to you, regarding size vs quality.
If you were asking Hisense 75 LCD vs Hisense 65 OLED for $2k (which it has been several times), I'd tip in the favour of OLED. OLED is just too good to choose a larger LCD.
But when you're comparing two LCDs, as good as the Sony is…mmm it's tough. X95G is a beautiful TV. When I see it on display in store, I am always blown away by how good the blacks are for an LCD. However, I have never seen it in a dark room.
Anyone got a fix on the Lip Sync issue by any chance?
Does Hisense have wifi issues? Read in some forums that wifi drops out and the apps freeze. Those issues specific to a particular model?
