Just stumbled upon this and noticed the mid-2019 Razer Blade 15 with the i7-9750H, RTX 2070 Max Q, 16gb ram, 512gb SSD and 240Hz screen for $3,359.20 (and even less if you're able to use discounted gift cards) with free delivery for eBay Plus. For those who have tried it, it's an excellent laptop with great build quality - feels like the Macbook Pro (of old) of Windows gaming laptops.

To put it in perspective, it's $4,399 at JB Hifi. Whilst that's just RRP and you can usually bag a deal at JB Hifi (I bought the 8750H model of the same 2070MQ laptop from JB Hifi earlier this year for $3999 with the 4 year extended warranty). Note that depending on your own personal risk appetite, you may still prefer to buy from a local store with extended warranty given there have been some concerns in the past with getting warranty service from Razer and that's why I went with JB Hifi.

And yes, I'm aware you could build it cheaper if it was a desktop, and yes Metabox/other generic company probably has a better specification laptop for cheaper than this. But IMO, you're paying a premium for the excellent build quality (although some reviews may argue otherwise!).

    I would advise people to steer clear of the Razer laptops. Nothing but bad stories on hardware failures, bad customer support (if they respond at all) and warranties that take forever to get done and still come back with the same broken part.

      Doesn't surprise me and I saw some on Whirlpool where people said the local Australian warranty claims was slow/rubbish and since I wanted a portable gaming laptop with that premium feel/build quality similar to Macbooks, I bit the bullet and bought from a bricks and mortar store which would be my point of contact in the event of a warranty issue. And just in case I get stuck right after the manufacturer warranty finishes or they try to argue ACL, that's why I was willing to spend a little bit more to get JB Hifi's coverage so I don't have to deal with the manufacturer/distributor directly.

    RTX2070 Max-Q is the equivalent of a GTX1070 (laptop) or RTX 2060 (laptop).
    It's quite a price premium for the small form factor.

      RTX 2070 Max-Q is equivalent to 1070 desktop.

      I have an 2070 Max-Q laptop and been getting the same frame rates as the 1070TI.

      RTX 2060 is more closer to 1660TI

        I've based my estimation looking at benchmarks. Specifically here.
        It appears it does vary depending on the game. Also the design of the laptop with regards to dissipating heat and throttling will impact the results greatly. I think the 2060 is much closer to the 1070 than 1660TI (laptop variants)

          i dunno how to add additional hardware to your comparison chart, trying to fiddle around the site but a bit confused…

          Are you able to add 1070TI to it?

          My experience was based on some of the newer games such as Borderland 3, etc.

            @meong: You can only add up to 3 options. Remove one and you should be able to add the 1070ti. It should appear the near the bottom of the page. It’s likely newer games will be better optimised to newer hardware but overall I reckon the 2070 maxq is not too far ahead of 1070/2060

              @FireRunner: Looking at the frame rates of the current games (even non Ray Tracing ones such BL3) the difference can be up to 10 fps in the High or Ultra settings which when you're at 40fps, an extra 10 is significant.

              Performance from low to high:

              1660TI
              2060
              2070 Max-Q ~ 1070 TI
              2070
              2080 Max-Q ~ 1080 TI
              2080

              Saying that 2070 Max-Q to be similar performance to 2060 is like saying 2070 to be similar to 2080 Max-Q. There are differences in performance, but as they are next to each other in terms of the performance ladder board, then the difference may seem minimal. But each consecutive positions do have what seems like slight incremental performance difference.

      I would advise anyone looking to purchase a small powerful laptop which is good for carrying around to not listen to this silly comment, as desktops are not small or good for carrying around.
