Need to get in early for these deals. I went last week for the stretcher bed and managed to grab the last one just after 10am.

Just went to pick one up, there's still about 7 left in Springvale. The material seems very thick and strong, looked easy to set up with 3 entries. Will be testing it out next weekend.

Sounds like my Thai Bride experience.

perfect for ultralight backpacking! i mean, who needs clothes, food, water etc.

This swag is meant to be carried in a vehicle, not for hiking.

so once a jolly swagman camped out by a billabong and toyota rav4?

        • +1

          Nah, Toyota Landcruiser mate.

        • RAV4 is a mall-crawler, at best.

What's the benefit of a swag vs a tent with mattresses? These look so heavy and a bit claustrophobic. What do you do when it rains? Do you need a gazebo next to it just to be able to sit up without getting drenched?

    • +4

for me a swag is so easy to set up like 5min, and unless your tent is made of canvas you wont get the kind of weather proofing the swag gets, in winter it keeps you warm and fully rainproof and mattress stay in it when u roll it up and out ,in summer you got the mesh screen on all side so you leave it kind of open if needs be, i usually have it under my awning that makes it even better when it rains

      • +2

My tent is in the lower pricing range yet has stayed completely dry in some pretty intense storms. Sounds like you're comparing this to a $20 Kmart tent!

    • +1

Swags are quicker and easier to setup. If you're crashing for the night and need to set up a sleeping area and not fussed about comfort, swags are your best bet. If you plan on staying in an area for a while a tent may be better suited. Just depends on your use case.

  • I wonder how this stacks up against the Kings double swag?..

    • Looks pretty similar. Kings big daddy deluxe has an 80mm mattress where this one has a 50mm. I think the non deluxe kings double might have a 50mm

      • +1

        Deluxe has 70mm mattress. Non-deluxe has 50mm.

Call up before heading in-store. I just went to Modbury store and they are out of stock even though online it says they aren't.

  • No mention in the description about this one being waterproof?

its canvas its a given , every canvas swag need to seasoned , Set up your swag outdoors in a location with good drainage. Don’t put the mattress or any bedding inside, and ensure all zippers are fully closed
Use a hose or sprinkler to thoroughly wet the canvas. Don’t apply direct water pressure to the seams, but rather simulate natural rain and allow water to fall on to your double swag. Ensure a complete and even saturation. This water will enter in to the threads in the double stitched seams causing them to swell in size
Allow your swag to air dry completely while it is erect. The material in the seams will contract during this time and bind together to form a water tight seal.
Repeat steps 2 and 3 at least one more time

      • Thanks :)

        while it is erect

        🤭

    • Set it up and wet it with a spray bottle, let dry, repeat 2/3 times.

Can anyone find any reviews about this? I can only see 3/5 stars on the anaconda website, but nothing to read. And can't see any other google reviews anywhere!

    • Same. What is this brand? Is this an anaconda knock-off brand or something? The closet review I can find is for the Kings variant… Im not sure if this

      • Probably not as that video has a big kings logo

      • +1

i have one and been using it for a couple of months and i love it , my friend got the kings deluxe one that is a bit more spacious but my canvas seems way thicker and better quality

        • +1

Does it also suffer from the sagging issue in the middle section of the canvas like the Kings?

        • how do you manage the size of it? 1.4m in length. a big 4wd?

  • +1

I bought the Spinifex last time when they had it for $99 but havent even opened it. Now I dont know whether to get this and sell or return the other one. Decisions

    • if you can manage the size of a double swag then why not?

  • +1

    3-way entry

    Bought.

    • 3 ways which are two ends and one side. for me, that's so stupid. I wish it'd be 2 sides and one end. I'm considering return it…

  • These seem like good Dutch ovens
