  • Is hotspotting OK?

    • +1

Yes you can do hotspot with this sim :)

  • Why would you get a travel sim when you can just buy the specific countries normal carrier sim card at the airport?

    • You’re right.. it’s literally $16 to buy off Singtel (one of the biggest Singapore telco) tourist sim for 1000gb over 7 days. Includes calls and stuff too.

Guaranteed quick 4g service and support.

If not there’s, a sub company (starhub) like amaysim which sell is for $13 for the exact same deal (I used it literally a week ago and it was perfectly fine)

It’s not like you are saving much. The best time to buy sims online is when you are multi city travelling or countries which give really poor international sim options. Like japan

      • But does that sim have unlimited data in Malaysia too? This sim will still be useful for a very specific set of circumstances (ie mine).

        • I don't mean to sound funny but you're obviously going to get unlimited data for cheaper direct than from a travel sim.

          • @obavatar: Sure, link please?

          • @obavatar: Interested to know what products are available directly (locally) with similar quota.

    • no need ID registration , for whatever reason

      • Interesting point. Although I've only ever had to give ID in Aus for pay as you go / prepaid SIMs.

        • I know Malaysia requires mandatory ID for any prepaid sim, after the bombing incident that used burner sim as trigger.

Having said that, in 'most' SEA countries you can pay for "pre-registered" ready-to-use sim, using other persons local IDs from dodgy roadside mobile stalls, without you even knowing it.

          • @dcep: Haha! Wow, well it's not like I personally care about giving my ID so at least I won't have to worry about that! But it's probably the only valid reason for someone to get a Travel Sim LOL

  • Out if stock. Getting anymore stock?

    • Hi we will be getting more stock but it will be a different product which will now include Indonesia on top of Singapore and Malaysia :)

      • Hi Travelkon when will your new stocks arrive? And will the pricing be similar to these? Thanks

  • Missed out, I’m after this :(
