What Is Your Favourite Weird Food Combination?

What two foods do you mix together that you love?

Mine would have to be vegemite and rasin toast or vanilla yoghurt with ice cream.

  • Sandwich with butter, 2 triangles of laughing cow style cream cheese, thick layer of Vegemite and as many walnuts as I can get in there.

        I've been eating it since I was a kid, I vaguely remember that I was really hungry one day, and I like both and thought why not, have not looked back since :)

    • add cheese on top as a melt. Then add chilli / soy sauce.

    Toast with a thick layer of vegemite and a fried egg with runny yolk. Ultimate hangover cure.

      I have this all the time. Never considered it remotely weird. Also scrambled eggs on toast with vegemite

    Next time you're at Nando's, try a spoon of the chocolate mousse with a tiny bit of the mayo chip dip (not the peri one). Tastes like cheesecake to me.

    chopped avocado, milk powder and sugar, mix/ mash well and eat. Best dessert ever!
    p.s. From where I come from, avocado is considered a dessert / fruit compared to something savoury like in Mexican cuisine.

    One of the other I’ve recently learnt from work mates is Toasted bread / peanut butter, sliced banana and honey. (omg).

    • We used to have avocado milkshakes when we were growing up!

    Yoghurt with pretty much anything cooked.

    Being Indian it is normal to have yoghurt with each meal but I'll have yoghurt with basically anything (Indian, Asian, western)

    • I've been doing this a lot lately. My stomach loves me for it.

    Weetbix with a thick layer of butter and vegemite

    • Add cheese to it as well. Really helps to get them down

  • Smashed avo with vinegar and cracked pepper on toast.

    • Balsamic?

      • Just white vinegar. Maybe a bit of salt to balance the acidity.

  • Dipping French fries in soft serve ice cream.

    BBQ Samboy chips in a Vegemite sammich.

    Mashed potato on toast. A good layer of grated cheese in the middle so it can melt.

  • Sardines with peanut butter and tuna with strawberry jam.

    Tomato sauce on pikelets, loved it since I went to school!

  • 1 large can of Sirena tuna, flaked.
    1 ripe Avocado, mushed.
    1-2 spring onions, finely chopped.
    Mayonnaise.
    A squeeze of lime.
    Mexican chili powder.
    Salt and pepper.

    Keep it chunky and stir gently to eat from a bowl, with bread..or..mush it all up and spread it on toast. Or crumpets, or your wife, I don't care.

  • Tuna pasta soy sauce

  • Bánh mì mix ham dips in either phở or bun bo hue

  • Add hot water to the instant cup noodles, add a slice of Kraft cheese, cover the lid. Wait for 3 minutes, enjoy.

  • Green mango dipped in a fish sauce & sugar mix, don't knock it till you try it.

    • You should try green mango with bagoong (fermented shimp paste). Very common combination with Filipinos

  • Drizzle enough boiling water on stacked weetbix until they are just soft enough (leaving a subtle amount of crunch is perfect but difficult). White sugar on top. Delicious breakfast.

    • I use warm milk instead of water and yes i concur

    • Yup, did this as a kid. Pour the boiling water on, let it sit to get mushy, drain off the excess water. Add sugar and milk.

    • I use hot chocolate instead of water.

  • Vegemite toast dipped in chocolate milk (quick or milo)

  • Use to pan fry white bread dipped in milk and egg nok

  • Vegemite porridge.

    Not real weird but tastes damn good. Vanilla custard made from powder mixed with milo. Poor mans yogo.

    Indomie Migoreng with crushed Aldi chilli flavoured chips. You could use Kettle chilli too, but I prefer the Aldi ones.

    Add a sunny side egg and a rasher of pan-fried triple smoked bacon and it's a meal.

    Once upon a time I used to eat Kettle chilli chips with rice…

    I thought it would be disgusting and curdle.

    Tried a sip of it about 15 years ago and it actually tasted pretty good / refreshing.

  • Probably not too weird but John West sardines in tomato sauce cold from the fridge, squished straight on to hot dry toast.

    • I do this at work :) mostly coz no butter required.

  • Used to crunch up corn flakes and mix into ice cream for dessert.

    Also used to have a midnight snack of Coco pops, milk, sour cherries (from jar) and a liberal splash of Bailey's Irish Cream during uni cramming sessions.

  • Everyone loves peanut butter and honey.. but I was raised on honey and cheese (processed cheese) sandwiches and have yet to meet anyone outside my family that eats them

    As a keto snack, I eat slices of cold butter with vegemite smeared over top… this is a daily event snd its bloody delicious.

    • Sounds like Welsh Rarebit if you add cheese to it.

  • Maccas fries with Vegemite
    Popcorn and yeast flakes with paprika
    Cheese and soupy instant noodles
    Cheese, sriracha and fried rice

  • I like Cajun chicken, fried eggs and boiled broccoli.

  • In some part of England they commonly stick a bit of cheese on their fruitcake…definitely a good combo (although it makes sense when you think about it)
