          Thank you

          • @vietzay: This seems overpriced to me, acknowledging that there are many competitors and different standards available.
I can see some that are USD50.

            • @GG57: Thanks, as I said, this is our cruise with 3 star rate, there are even 45 $ for daily cruise. kindly note that our offer is 2 day / 1 night.

              • @vietzay: Is that USD45?

Approval letter? since when do you need one of those!

    • +2

For travelign to vietnam, you always needed a visa unless you are from the visa free countries such as UK, Italy, Germany, France and Spain + ASEAN. Aussies required visa to entry to Vietnam. Thank you so much

But it is possible and feasible to obtain a visa upon arrival in Vietnam (without paying this fee for a letter / "pre-approval").

        • No, you will need an approval letter. You will not be allowed to board if you dont have it in advance. Thank you

        • +1

You can't board a plane without a letter or an evisa

          • @i7-2600k: I'm pretty sure neither myself nor my Parents needed a visa last year.

            Edit: Apologies. UK Passport.

He means now Australians can pay 25 USD and get a evisa, no need to lineup, no letters, no passport photos. Now all done online.

The free letter is clearly a trick and you don't even mention the stamping fee

        • -3

stamping fee is a must for EVERYONE and you pay it to immigration officer not to us.

          Vietnam visa has 2 step
          1: apply for approval letter
          2: pay stamping fee

Please read more before you submit any comment.

          Thank you

          • @vietzay: Evisa is a much easier process for Australians. No need to line up VOA counter and pay for a stamp.

          • @vietzay: So how much is stamping fee ? 25USD evisa does not need to pay stamping fee.

Edit - Stamping fee is $25 USD so the letter have nil value and you still have to queue up to pay and get stamped.

Its cheaper to get ur visa done at one of vietnamese travel agency in any large aus city. And you dont have to wait at immi in vn to obtain visa on arrival. It can take awhile. I used to be travel agent.

    • Thanks, agree. We issue vietnam visa letter separately in 1 day after visa submitted. thank you

    • It's cheaper and easier to get it online direct… Check
      https://xuatnhapcanh.gov.vn/en

      • yes, you can get it there with immigration website.

  • The notion that booking a trip online through an agency, with the promise of a completely unnecessary and worthless "approval letter" could possibly be better value than negotiating directly with any number of the tourist boats touting for business is nonsense and an insult to all travelling ozbargainers!

      Thank you so much,

      Have a nice day

  • Visa online is easy - pay your $ and avoid any hassle.

Booked my cruise a couple of days beforehand whilst staying in Hanoi - plenty of options available and no shortage of cabins. No need to book way in advance. Book late and you can judge the weather and avoid if it is looking ugly.

    • we have free of charge cancellation. Thank you so much
