I was hoping to get some cheap Galaxy Buds since they are being given away by Samsung. Oddly all the local sellers (Brisbane) are trying to get $200+ when I can buy them online for ~$180.

Yeah - I got a phone that had them included as a redemption offer.
I dont think samsung ever gave them away for free.
Maybe they take a little hit on them for $100 and add $100 to the cost of the phone these came with.Toby deals has them for $165.

Isn't it just supply and demand? Like any seller, they list for what they hope to get, and might take offers below that?
If they sell them for $200 to someone who doesn't know any better, then so be it…
Market dictates. If they don't sell, price reduces to the point they sell at, then you get outliers chancing that people haven't done their research but they might sell fast or get stuck with ever depreciating assets.
Perhaps have a look on Gumtree and ebay private seller auctions if you want the buds cheaper.
People who received galaxy buds via redemption could be flogging them off brand new and unopened - I believe they are all white though, if you are after black you are out of luck. These are better than grey imports as you would be covered by Samsung warranty.

I would think that anyone who gets them for "free" would want to use it with their new phones rather than selling it.
I managed to get them second hand on Gumtree for $100. Most of them around my area are going for ~$150-170 BNIB
I managed to score a brand new set for $130 from Facebook marketplace. Hooray :)

They are $249 brand new from JB, and about $189 from online retailers. That's as cheap as you can get them I'd say.
Samsung aren't just giving them away, they are selling them as an add on to a new phone.
