The apps posted in the deal are just clones of other well-known apps. These developers usually add their own tracking/ads to the app. Ratings also doesn't mean anything.

PowerAudio Pro Music Player and Elite Music Player are literally the same app just rebranded.

Don't waste your time. These apps are free for 90% of the time. The original price is to trick people like OP.

You've linked a trial app and a IAP app.

sounds like one of the loads of malware / spyware apps being found on google play store.. avoid at all costs.

      • I always look a gift horse in the mouth as nothing is ever free - there are always associated costs or expectations.

The games from Epic you have to sign up to their site and thus give away some personal details so they can track and then aim advertising at you (which is then sent on to the game devs so they can do likewise).. free apps on phones I tend to be highly suspicious of, especially when they do simple things or are clones / reskins of other apps.. generally it's a really easy entrance vector for malware and for potentially malicious data theft from a device which can hold your bank details, email details etc.

        • FYI on the Epic purchase page, they only share details with devs if you click the 'share' box. At least that's how it looks. Haven't read the fine print.

Never heard of anyone using an app to identify their CPU before. Can't you just google your phone's model and find out?

    • Sometimes its useful when you're buying 2nd hand or to identify whether you have a snapdragon or qualcomm processor if you're buying grey stock and don't have the model number at hand
