In case you have not yet noticed, OzBargain is currently sponsoring birthday celebrations in cities around Australia, as we are turning THIRTEEN this year! Do get involve in those meetups if you have a chance, to meet other ozbargainers in real life. We will pay/reimburse for the food, drinks & venue — just need to get it organised!
Meanwhile the Sydney West meetup happened yesterday at Commercial Hotels Parramatta, and it was a success (thanks to @9574783558). They even posted up a video singing happy birthday! Much appreciated!

This year we will again run a birthday greeting competition, to celebrate your favourite bargain hunting community getting into the Teenage Years. So, how would you celebrate and congratulate someone who just turned 13? Send your entries in to be part of the competition! It can be
- A photo
- An image / graphics artwork
- An animated GIF, or
- A video
You might need to upload it to some media hosting sites first (YouTube, Streamable, Imgur, etc). You can then submit it via comment in this post.
There will be 8 winners with total prize of $2,000. Prize can be claimed in either PayPal credit or gift cards.
- 1st Prize: $600
- 2nd Prize: $500
- 3rd Prize: $400
- 5x Honourable mentions: $100

It was my first time making one of these and yes, yes it was hard. I ended up watching hours of Trump speeches just to find the word 'bargain' and its hard to find a good video of him talking up his deal making prowess in a coherent manner. Surprisingly, bargain is a word he hardly ever uses. Which may say something else about him.

My eldest turns 13 this December and with the help of OzBargain I have planned a long weekend away for the family to celebrate.

Although it doesn't look like much, I spent the afternoon drawing this (my drawing skills aren't very good hahaha), and then realised (just as I was uploading it) that it didn't really answer the specifications… But I still want to share the comic I drew and hope that it's counted as an entry.

Happy Birthday OZBargain. I spent a good couple of hours making this as an animated video but I was using the trial version. It wouldnt let me share the animated video without paying for a subscription…couldnt find a discount code for it.
Had to take a screen shot of it. Any way hope everyone enjoys the timeline of OZbargains life so far. Look forward to many many more years to come!
