Part of Apple education? Had no problems buying (I chose click and collect). Other retailers selling at $145, so there's a chance to price match.
Edit: yes, it is with the education discount. But anyone can buy it at lower than RRP.

Likewise, I'm waiting for a apple eraser…RRP $199.LOL
The pencil is actually a really good device. Better than any Wacom or the Surface Pen in most regards.
This is just the RRP for the 1st gen pencil with the education discount.
I would pay $30 for my son to practice his drawing.
I recommend the Logitech iPad Crayon over this for half the price at the moment at Big W (at the same price go with Apple Pencil I guess). Has the same technology. I have both and the main difference is the pressure sensitivity. You also don't need to have your Bluetooth on for Logitech iPad Crayon. I also like the way if feels in the hand over the Apple Pencil.
General doodles and notetaking it would be fine, but if you're doing any kind of art then no pressure sensitivity is basically a dealbreaker.
Can you use that between devices without connecting?
I saw some guy pull out something similar in the Apple store and he was showing them and it worked on the display ipads
The Logitech Crayon you can.
The Crayon is cool, and well priced, but no way it's as good as the Apple Pencil. Not having pressure sensitivity sucks and annoys me about the Crayon. The tilt isn't very good either on the Crayon.
The 1st gen Apple Pencil is popular for the revered Ipad Pro 10.5 model, mainly since the 2nd gen Apple Pencil is not compatible with it.
Neither is the Logitech Crayon, even after the latest firmware and IOS updates, so won't be useful alternative for many people considering this or other deals for the 1st gen Apple Pencil.
As mr_me450 said, this is RRP with Education discount
Do people use Apple Pencil at all? I mean is it common?
Yes all the time. At work I talk notes in MS OneNote and markup documents in MS Word and pdf readers.
Every day.
I prefer the Surface Pro pencil by a huge margin, but this gets the job done.
I recommend Crayola
Possible pricebeat at officeworks.
Did anyone try at office works to price beat?
Spoke to a genius they say it's only educational people so I dunno what's going on with that
You need education ID to pick up so your purchase would be voided
I had no problems, and picked it up normally without any education ID. So I guess it just depends
I wouldn't risk it. I would just get from JB then claim TRS the difference is like $11 if you buy a ipad 7th gen with it
They will still give you a refund. So nothing to worry about.
I paid $145 will get my tax back TRS don't see the point here. I don't need to fake it to be educational staff
any sale for Pencil 2?
