I have the QCY tws pair. As well as the sony wf1000xm3. You're pretty naive to think the QCY are even in the same class lol. QCY are great if you just want decent sound. NC and everything else they aren't even comparable.

How much do these cost to make ? $20 or something ??

    • +5

lordezekiel can make them for $10, so that's probably why you're getting negged!

No, the actual R&D costs 50 million (number of sold units) x $300 (average sales price) x 40% (the minimum profit you can think Apple is making) = $6 billion. It takes that much to pay to R&D to make such a revolutionary product.

  • +1

I hated the old design of AirPods because they looked like they could fall out of your ears in a head shake test, and the long stalk looked lazy and outdated as soon as it came out. Still wont be buying these but good to see they're moving in the right direction with the slightly shorter design and in ear tips.

    • They still fall out for me, hard to seal for anc too.

      • +3

Interesting.. did you try the bigger sized tips? That's what she said

        • Yes and different size in different ears too, at first I thought they were good but got worse over the week of use, the v2 I could only use the right one too, i am done with them, had the Bose QC35 sold for the 700, they are better.

  • Thanks OP! My partner bought one direct from Apple on the weekend but will return it now.

Just on the order confirmation from the GG - The shipping address I entered is not showing up anywhere in the email confirmation.

They charged me $5 for delivery but the email and order details in the online account says it's being shipping to the Dubbo store!?!?! Or is that just the store that's processing my order?

    • +1

Think its either the store processing the order or the store that has stock. I'm in Brisbane and my processing store is in Ballina.

      • Thanks for the reply!

Does any of your confirmation emails or online account show the actual shipping address correctly?

I'm having it delivered to North Sydney but I can't see that address anywhere.

        • +1

Yep, both my confirmation of your order and your order is being processed emails have my full address on it in the "your details are:" section. I did a checkout as a guest so maybe that could be a reason for the difference if yours dosn't have an address

          • @damoss: No worries I just called the Dubbo store up and they confirmed my delivery address.

It was different to my billing address that’s why there’s confusion.

  • +7

I'm not sure why there's so much negativity towards this in the comment section (maybe people are not sure what this product is capable of?)

So basically, there aren't too many competitors for the airpods pro in terms of its functionalities (ANC, voice quality, transparency mode ) and the design (small form factor, comfort, IOS compatibility)

Some may argue that the Sony's in-ear wireless earbuds are better. Although their sound quality is superior, they suffer from a bad app, chunky design, and comfort)

So if you can afford these. It'll be your best choice for everyday commute & work headphones PERIOD.

    • -4

yes but for $359? its earphones with wireless, its not rocket science

still better than the apple stand i guess

      • +4

Active noise cancelling tech is just expensive. The Sony ones also sell for $399 rrp and all the headphones with ANC are around $300 to $400. Also it is very impressive and amazing that tech today can achieve ANC on such lightweight and tiny wireless earbuds with impressive battery life, at least to me its amazing. I guess not all people use headphones at least 5 hours a day to listen podcasts music or use it for phone calls, but if you're that type of people these truly wireless earbuds are just fantastic and worth the price.

        • -1

are there any actual reviews that compare the performance of different ANC solutions though? i mean it sounds cool and all but without solid evidence its just a gimmick to me, there is no way in hell i'm forking out 300+ for ANC earbuds, particularly when decent chifi earbuds cost $10

i'm still sticking to my wired passive noise cancellation though, i do 5+ hrs a day regularly and i don't really like the idea of putting a wireless device that close to my brain

          • +2

@abctoz: Of course there are. There are literally tens of thousands of reviews on YouTube for ANC heaphones and earbuds. And I own the Sony wf-1000xm3, and I can testify how good the ANC works compares to a pair of B&O Beoplay E8 (that only has passive noise cancellation) I also own. Sony actually flopped their first try on the wf-1000 a few years back but the xm3 is so much better.

Oh wait, do you really think bluetooth can hurt your brain?

            • @becku: as far as i know ANC works well for repetitive noise like engines. but for things like voice you can end up getting weird noise artifacts that can actually be annoying, this still seems to be true on the airpod pro…

passive noise cancellation depends a lot on how good the seal is, you can get cheap $5 buds that are exceptionally good at blocking out noise, particularly when you have some music playing.

if you believe wireless signals can be harmful than the logical conclusion is you should also beware of wireless earbuds particularly when its right next to your brain for extended periods

    • NO. These are your best choice for if you prefer a more seamless iOS compatibility. As everyday wireless earphones there are other brands that are already better than the Airpods Pro like Sennheiser and Sony.

The Sony app works perfectly fine on Android devices and allows much more customisation for your earbuds whereas Apple only offers a couple of very simple On/Off buttons.

So sorry but you get more bang for your buck with the Sony earbuds.

      • the sony probably sound better, but the call quality is way better on the airpods. As I actually use these for calls, this was pretty important as its annoying when the caller keeps saying they cant hear you, or you sound like you are underwater.

  • +3

Oh look at everyone giving the good guys their money after everyone cried last week haha

  • hey the code isn’t working? it’s telling me it’s invalid?

    • +1

      Use code 'FRENZY10'. Caps sensitive.

      • Thanks mate!

  • +1

They didn’t suit my ears, sitting on my desk for apple to pick up tomorrow. Bought Bose 700.

    • are the earbuds like the earbuds of other brands?

      • Don’t know sorry

  • +2

I’m glad there is some noteworthy discount on these but god I hate TGG. That Xbox one x debacle was ridiculous.

  • Combine with the buy $100 get $10 TGG card deal

    • can you stack gift cards?

      • seems only two cards are allowed online

  • +2

For $350 or less they'd be great. For $365 they're good. They're definitely a massive improvement from their regular Airpods, though I'm still not a fan of their onboard controls. Noise cancellation was pretty damn good, especially for their entry to this. Still, I'm holding out for Bose's 2020 ANC offering.

    • Yeah I found the squeezing terrible v the taps on V2.

  • -6

WHY ARE PEOPLE BUYING THESE OVERPRICED POS!

  • Sorry but where do you enter gift cards?

  • Do you think TGG is likely to have these on 20% off for back Friday or other upcoming sales?

  • Woah that 10% discount is attractive but might be worth the 20% sales on eBay

  • Online stock for this Apple AirPods Pro is sold out and temporarily unavailable. …..

  • +1

only 10% off. will wait for 20% off!

  • +1

This is the first time I've actually managed to hold off buying a deal that I really wanted purely because I dislike the company so much. Making progress as a deal consumer!

    • +3

you dislike the company so much but really wanted the product?

      • +1

        As in TGG

        • Ah ok I though Apple haha

  • Can it be price matched in OW?

    • They’re no longer listed on their website

  • Are these returnable to Apple once opened (within 14 days), or will I need to buy directly from Apple to enjoy this benefit (I'm suspecting the latter!)

I love my QC35s so not even sure if I need these! #extremeconsumerism

    • +1

Got to buy from Apple for that.

    • Definitely not

  • Thanks op. Stacked with discounted gift cards and ShopBack cashback!

My partner’s pair is being shipped from TGG Dubbo store and will arrive in north Sydney on Monday.

I got a tracking number via Auspost.

    • +1

Got a tracking number today from the good guys, Moonah in Tassie :)

Aparrently they'll be delivered to Syd by Tuesday

      • Mine’s already been delivered to work.

I’ve got today off so will have to get it on Monday.

  • Anyone in Melbourne received any further information about their orders?

    • Did you end up getting yours?

      • After I hadn't received any delivery notification for about a week, I called the store to which the order had been assigned. They mentioned they still had not received any stock, but noted that other stores in Melbourne had 30-40 units. They helped to assign my order to a different store, and I received my order a few days later.

  • So my order has been lost in “transit”. I should’ve read the reviews for good guys before ordering. Has this happened to anyone else for the AirPods?

    • Unlucky, hope it got sorted?

Got mine and am very pleased

    • Mmm

    • Well isn’t that interesting.

    • Well isn’t that interesting. Mine were lost in transit as well. Have been given two delivery dates but they pass and I just get a ‘delayed’ message.
