I have purchased new RAM, Mobo and a graphics card for about $1,147 after discounts. Hope I will not regret it.
Is Anyone Purchasing PC Parts Now with ShopBack/Cashrewards, or Are You Going to Wait for BF/CM
Comments
Just so i can buy the same during BF sales
Can't tell if you're joking…
FOMO INTENSIFIES
that's a poke to OP
FOMO INTENSIFIES
"Join me, and together we can rule the galaxy as father and son."
heavy breathing
But STILL!
…Do I buy parts today, or wait a couple of weeks??
I need a better power supply, and more HDD capacity for all these Game Pass games, and my indecisiveness is killing me right now
@Switchblade88: I'd wait. BF/CM are both usually pretty good times to buy PC parts.
@Switchblade88: when do you want to turn on your new pc?
They come down over time and then skyrocket up when no longer available in stores.
Unless it is a 2080ti which have gone up.
Prices often go up in lead up to BF/CM so retailers can claim higher discounts. Basically like ebay price jacking.
No 2080ti prices have been up for the past few months. On average 200-300 higher than June.
You may also consider buying it already but using a payment method that has price protection, eg. 28° Mastercard. Best of both worlds, I reckon. I've been doing it for some time now and haven't had any claims pushed back. Since I'm on Ozbargain all the time anyway, deals are easy to spot.
I'm looking to upgrade my gaming rig and wonder what past experience says regarding deals and vendors. In terms of vendors, do you think the local vendors provide the best price point, or do we look to Amazon US/Newegg. In terms of sales, should I wait for Cyber Monday or commit on Black Friday?
One of the best advices I have read around is: buy what you need at the price you think is right and STOP LOOKING.
can't UNLOOK when you scroll through OZB
I was thinking the same thing - wait or just buy now and i just bought now, i knew what i wanted and that was all the high end stuff
new mobo, i7 9770k, new ram, ssd etc - all top of the line
chances for all of them to be on discount at the same time are slim - and alos those deals run out so if you miss out
i went with a store close to me and they upgraded my computer for free and re installed windows etc since i bought parts from them - in the long run if i have any issues i will just go back to them and i prefer that to say amazon where issues would be harder to fix…send back, wait bla bla
Just enjoy your new PC.
Part prices always come down over time, so if you always think like this you'll always be miserable when you go shopping.
What did you buy? Just so i can buy the same during BF sales for $899.
