Sony Bravia KD55X9500G 55" Full Array 4K UHD Android TV (Box Damaged) $1299 Delivered @ Sony eBay

PSLEIGH

This is my first OzBargain post. I was looking for Sony X9500G 55 inch deals and came across this just now in eBay. It says that the product is box-damaged. I am not sure how concerned one should be about box-damaged products from Sony.

some say "box damaged" is just discount from sony official channel under a disguised name.

    • how did you know that?

      • i heard somewhere. either here or whirlpool.

        • Yep, multiple reports about this on Ozbargain, hardly anyone got a box with any damage at all, and your warranty is unaffected, so safe to assume sneaky discount.

I purchased a box damaged 43" sony tv and I couldn't see any damage on the box. There was no damage or scratch on tv either.

I've bought 4 "box damaged" items from Sony including 2 TVs and all of them have been pristine boxes.

It's just how they can offer better prices than their retail partners without pissing them off.

  • this price is good. so tempted.

  • Yep that’s true I got a huge sound system from them Box was brand new undamaged

  • Very tempted. I have 2015 model 8500C and while the picture is good, the UI is as slow as anything. I also don't think it will ever be updated past android 7.

If i was you id just get media box (apple tv, firestick, vodafone etc) and do everything through that rather than the tv. Save some money if thats your concern

Pro tip: never buy a smart tv (built in media function) as updates are short-lived - usually 2-3 updates for the life of the tv. After that you can no longer have up to date apps, which can be a problem. On cheaper model “smart tv’s” the smart function is flaky, limited, and slow!. Save yourself some money and get a smart less TV. Use the money saved to buy a good media box (nvidia shield, firestick, vtv) which will provide your tv with much better smart function, and ongoing updates which will outlast the lifespan of your tv and into the next.

P.S. Nvidia shield 2019 with 4K up scaling is a real game changer. If your tv supports 4K and you’re watching something that isn’t the media box will use AI tech to upscale the resolution to near 4K! This really makes good use of your 4K TV.

Good luck getting a "smartless" 4K HDR TV of any decent quality..

You are describing something that doesn't exist, unless you buy a 42" monitor?

        • -3

Took me about 30 seconds to find this..

What's next ? Unicorns ? Alright, here you go..

@Magpye: cool that's not HDR or 4K and is only 32" and also has smart apps.

            ???

      • Yeah buy a shit TV so you don't need to worry about it's smart abilities…. Lol

Who cares about everything else hey?

      • Upvoting, because this is actually a sensible comment.
Peripheral devices will have a much longer software support cycle than the majority of smart TV's, and do not have the cut down version that is loaded on TV's.

Not too sure why the neg post was valid - and agree with the media box, my hisence only ever got 1 update and they never fixed the HDR prb

  • Wonder if Sony stores will price match.. you could use AMEX offer for further discounts

  • Can confirm the box is likely undamaged. Mate got a 65" OLED from them earlier this year and it was perfect.

Sony 75" X95G Full Array LED 4K Ultra HD Smart Android TV (Box Damaged) $3,800

Not sure if that's a good deal, I just noticed it's another box damaged listing.
Anyone feel free to post it if it is.

  • Thank you OP for your first post. This is my first post too!

Just wanted to point out that this is back in stock, 9 left (I bought one!)

  • Guys, I have tried the voucher code "PSLEIGH" to save a further 20% to bring down the price from $1600 to $1300 but I get an error message "This code can't be applied to your order."

    Help please.
    Thanks
