I believe this is a historical low for these LABO kits. Nice Christmas present for the kids.

but it’s cardboard at a historical low
Video game software is not cardboard. The cardboard is used as interactive peripheral to the enhance the experience with the software.
Urghh, so sick of these comments with LABO. It's just like saying for every PS4 game "aren't these just a plastic slip case, A5 printed semi-gloss paper and a plastic circular disc"
I picked these up last time from Amazon, son and I spent some great time constructing them (and me being an engineer I was constantly marvelling at the clever way they just used 'cardboard pieces' in its construction) and he really loves playing the software!
if you break the cardboard, is it easy to order replacements?
You can contact Nintendo Directly, for LABO Replacement Parts
They also have LABO spare parts available from their official eBay store.
Note: Replacement parts cost as much as the whole kit itself…
Or, download the PDFs from Nintendo for free. Print them on A3 paper (at work), get some free cardboard boxes from Bunnings or Aldi, tape printout to the back and cut out. Cost $0.
Yes. Cheap versions are available on eBay and AliExpress.
Else you can fix it with duct tapeFree PDF copies are available from Nintendo.
I gave mine to my gp for her son - he loves to tinker, she said it's the best gift he's ever had and doesn't stop using it
That was for kit #1
So yeah.
For the right child, seems like a good idea. These were half price at Target last week.
Link? I can only find the expansion sets ½ price at Target, not the base game set.
Perfect timing for Xmas…. I just saw these in Big W and Target for $99 and $119 so for "a piece of cardboard" for me I am willing to pay the $50 to enjoy some time playing with the kids.
Thanks.
W
Aren't these just boxes of cardboard pieces?
