yea but ddr6 is coming out in 5 years time so..

        only upgrade/update if u r desperate…

        • You won’t be paying $130 for a 16gb kit of DDR5 for a few years

Your comment makes no sense, your saying because DDR5 is coming people should wait and upgrade CPU, motherboard, RAM when it comes out? It’s RAM, buy it if your other hardware supports DDR4 and you need more space

    • production rate is not as expected, they are delaying it. Was suppose to be mass producing right now

DDR5 will not only be very expensive when it comes out but it will also need the latest and greatest tech to go with it.

Most people will be sticking with DDR4 tech.
The cost saving would see more performance putting that cash towards a faster graphics card and CPU rather then DDR5.

Also New DDR5 will be way way slower then DDR5 after it matures.
Look how much better DDR4 is today.. 2133Mhz VS 4000Mhz :)
Whoever had the slow DDR4 would of upgraded by now.

Adopting the newest standard first is not always the best option or may not even provide any future proofing.

These prices are great! i have 32GB of 3000Mhz Gskill on a R7 3700X MSI B450 Mortar Titanium board — runs great at XMP 3000Mhz.. cant go any faster though but my rams 3 years old

Yup this is basically the gist of DDR5 or any new tech right now. Not cost effective.

    • @alexGoodwin, we're clearing out space for new stock. This isn't a clearance to make space for DDR5 or because of DDR5.

This is just simply because we want it gone.

'New one coming soon, don't buy now' is the looping hell of PC components. I think it's ok to pick a station and get off the train once in a while.
