Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone knew of any good sites for late deals, both worldwide and domestic.
We often decide on the spur of the moment to get away from it all but rarely find bargains, even if we travel in the next few days.
Cheers

they don't always give you good last minute deal.
it's just another booking website using the name that indicates it can give you best deal for last minute booking.
Sometimes you get good deal, sometimes just meh.
Agree. The few times I've tried to use them (a looooong time ago now), they were really nothing but another aggregator.
lastminute is just another front-end for Wotif. No true last minute deals there.
yep pretty much. they even have the same web design. just different colour
Thanks for the valuable response <facepalm>
Cruise companies offer 'pack n go' fairs which usually have a decent discount to fill up ships departing in the near future.
You can book them directly through the companies (P&O, Carnival etc etc).
I'm unsure if there are any agents who specialist in these deals.
Hmm like this? https://www.pocruises.com.au/deals/last-minute-cruises
CruiseGuru does similar for most of the cruise lines. Saw a thing on Gruen that said Australians are huge cruise goers.
Airline pricing algorithms are geared to sell fares for the most expensive prices at the last minute. People on the same plane pay all different prices depending on when they booked, and people booking last minute usually NEED to go or else they would book for a later date. I was on a Jetstar flight from QLD to Melbourne and the guy next to me said he paid like $300 a few days earlier, but I had paid $69 10 months earlier, and that was including a connecting flight onwards to Hobart.
Virgin has a last-minute system where only employees have access to the unsold seats, and only at the extreme last minute at the airport as check-in closes, but even then booking ahead on a Jetstar/Tiger sale would have still been cheaper.
Thanks guys. I’ll take a look at most of the suggestions.
