It's no hozelock..
True, you wont be able to water ski with this one.
should i get this one or hoselink?
The Hoselink deal ended at midnight.
Aqua systems is a really cheap brand. Their products are mostly miss and really only designed for temporary use (eg under a year)
I say this from experience with their hose connectors, spray guns, soaked hose and hose cart.
I strongly recommend you don’t buy the hose reel because even well established brands liken Pope and Gardena get bad reviews on thier hose reels.
Having said that, I’m quite happy with the aqua systems spray gun but I buy a new one every year because I’m always dropping and breaking them. It’s cheaper to buy a new spray gun than fork out for an expensive brass one.
Yep, it's just generally rebagged cheap stuff that they source, occasionally the products are cheap enough to be reasonable value but often its just a PITA that will end in frustration. For the same price as this, you can grab a decent quality hose and a hose hanger and it will serve you better for a lot longer.
Any recommendations? So the Aldi one on sale better can be considered as a better choice?
Hard to know, since Aldi's not on sale yet. But I can't imagine it'll be worse than Aqua Systems.
I haven't had any experience with the Aldi one, but have with many other brands and I still wouldn't buy the ones of brands that are usually higher quality than Aldi's normal fare.
For about $5 more, at a quick glance, I would be looking at a hose like this https://www.bunnings.com.au/nylex-12mm-x-20m-flextreme-garde… (15yr warranty compared to ??? on the Aquasystems and Aldi one) and a hanger like one of these https://www.bunnings.com.au/compare?products=3120875,0077863…,
I have this brand. The hose doesn't stop any length i want. Pain to use. I need to unreel like half before it lock
Poor man pays twice.
Bunnings are great with returns - keep the receipt and all good.. Pay once
I need cheap hose reels, dogs love ruining them, they don't care which brand.
how kinky is this ?
This was the one I expected bunnings to match with, but I hoped it would at least be the Holman.
I've always had issues with Aqua Systems stuff, cheap and nasty, and not worth it IMO. Glad I ordered the hoselink reel instead…
I have this same one from bunnings in my front lawn. No issues or problems with it, I did replace the hose head with a cheap gun nozzle.
Probably use it a few times a week over 2 years now without any issue. Reel still works well, unwinds by itself, still attached to brick wall. My 3 year old uses it as well so its not like we are gentle on it and I need the full 20m to do my front lawn.
Have heard a few stories of people nicking good quality ones from front yards so this was a good solution for me.
Will try the aldi one.. Also good with returns… If bunnings matched the Holman, I would have gone with that.
These are terrible.
I got one for Christmas two years ago. The hose ratchet never works properly or stops where you want it (if you can manage to get it to click on at all). It doesn't always go back into the reel when you are finished.
Also I was astounded when I read the instructions and it said the reel wasn't designed be installed outside in direct sunlight!!! The plastic isn't UV rated and has deteriorated on mine.
Installed it today and gave it a work - no complaints for 50 bucks.
Mine is installed inside my garage (tap is just outside) so doesn't get any sun etc so should hopefully hold up.
Anyone have one of those that can comment on the quality?
