Is it too late or enough to save a dying CBD?

    • +4

The shops in CBD are already closed. Not much point now. Maybe just prolong the suffering for those still hanging on.

    • +1

Too little too late the CBD has been dead for a while now…

  • +2

    CBD is full of bogans.

    • +1

I don't care about the bogans, it's the beggars that I'm worried about.

      • Why are you worried about them? do you think they're plotting against you or something?

        • +3

          The meth-head ones certainly are.

  • +1

Is there any unique stores left in the city? Or is it just Country Road, Coles and Woolworths again?

  • Where's Perth again?

    • +4

      Sydney's Western Suburbs

    Zombie meth

  • Visited Perth in 2010 for the red bull air race and stayed in the CBD. Was really surprised to find it basically empty.

It's been dead since 2008! And the city council has sat on their hands hoping it will get better soon. It's been 10 years since and if anything it only got worse. If they had been not as greedy regarding parking revenue and actually tried to entice people into the city, they may not have to resort to such drastic measures.

The Perth council is even more corrupt than the average Aus city council. At best, they are only there for the paycheck. It's so bad half of them are literally being reviewed by the Corruption and Crime Commission - and the gov almost never investigates itself. The people aren't even an after thought. lol

        • Proof? At least that a review is being conducted?

        • +1

yes, after reading the articles on the investigation, its hard to believe so much corruption was hidden for so long

    • +1

I've still got the massive banners they hung around the city for that. And a massive flag thing, about as big as a very large pool table

When they built Elizabeth Quay they should've built a V8/international race track around it. Said so from day one.

EQ - what a waste of money - bit like that damn Bell Tower.

      No forward vision.
