I'd never buy an Acer laptop. Their reputation is not good.

      "SlowCarSlow"
Deal over now but this was a great deal. Many people need a thin/small/light laptop/ultrabook, and this is light @ 1.3Kg and even has aluminium a part of it's solid build.

For a 13.3" screen HD is ok, especially if it's a decent quality screen. Others value good sound quality high on their list which this laptop also provides.

Don't get me wrong, I love having a 15.4" workhorse laptop ( typing this on a 15.4" Acer now lol ), and the one you linked was/is great value and one of the best cheap decent laptop deals in a while, but not everyone wants a 15.4" laptop, or better still they want both for the best of both worlds.

I find 14" to be the perfect size

Me too, but some people have worse eye sight than me,…and some better lol.

My latest favorite laptop/ultralight purchase/usage for travelling was a low cost Acer Swift 1 14" FHD IPS screen, only has a Celeron QC N4100, but benefits are only 1.3Kg and radiant cooling with Zero Noise. You can pick similar up for $499-$599 and even less on super sale.

But,…..I do have a more powerful 15.4" laptop for home use I prefer at home, even although heavier and only HD screen lol.

They were looking for a "cheapo laptop" and I provided an alternative option. HD is usable for sure, but I do find FHD is a better experience when browsing some websites or trying to have multiple things open at once (essential for this really).

I've only owned laptops made of plastic materials, so build quality is something I've never really considered.

EDIT: For some reason I thought this was a forum post, ignore first sentence.

        • After reading the post again myself, it does sound more like a forum post rather than a Bargain post as they are not sure and unclear about their needs. We find out a little more in comment below mine.

Most of my laptops over the years have also been "cheapo plastic laptops", but as higher priced aluminium built laptops like Apple and so many others are heavily advertised and promoted in Australia and other developed countries, that feature has become desirable to many. There also are the benefits too of having a sturdy more solid metal build, but personally I still prefer the cooler feel of plastic on my palm rest/keyboard area.

After a compact, 13 would be ideal

  • 4GB RAM??
Naaaaaah! Specially when deals like this floating around!

  • 4GB ram and 128GB SSD. I think it's also a HD screen, rather than fullHD. I don't think it's justified at that price point. The price is probably appealing, on the basis of it being quite thin and light. But as others have mentioned, there are probably better bets for your money. You may just need to compromise a little on thinness and weight.

  • It's "HD".
It's 2019. I don't think I'd by a HD laptop no matter how cheap it is.
    FHD or go home.

    • I have a fairly new 15.4" laptop that has a FHD screen but not IPS and not so great colour and brightness wise, not a biggy as I got it really cheap on sale. When I compare the laptop screen side by side with some other laptops, especially smaller decent HD screens, some of the others look better with deeper richer colours, nicer contrast and sometimes brighter too.

It's not just about pixels :-)
