I seriously thought it was a ping pong table when I saw the thumbnail. No work would be getting done if we had them in our office!
My first thought too… but it looks a tad too shallow and the net far too high for it to work. You'd only be able to loop the ball over if you wanted it to land on the other side. I've obviously given this far more thought than it deserves….

Weight limit is more than a bit concerning. I guess you could add some cross members to increase this unless the legs or feet are also weak.
