which ones are better now? I have one of these and it is great, I put it on a necklace when camping so I always have a light handy if I get up for a wizz etc.
Been a while since i bought a new light, anything good, small and rechargeable out there?
I'm quite liking the Olight i1R, though they're releasing the updated version soon. Many companies are now releasing little lights similar to the i1R, including the Fenix UC02 and the Klarus Mini One. They all seem to use a 10180 battery and offer MicroUSB recharging. I keep the Olight on my necklace, and I think it's cheaper than the others (particularly on sale).
Downside compared to that one is that the Nitecore offers ramping, so you can pick whatever brightness between 0 and 45 lumens that you want. Upside is that the others are brighter at maximum.
thanks for that, there still seems to be a place for the nitcore tube. Its cheap and flat, so unobtrusive and can be given to the kids.
acebeam uc15, a bit expensive though.
This is OzBargain. We wait 4-8 weeks for slightly less expensive. :P
"Slightly more expensive" = No deal!
Where is this available cheaper elsewhere?
Transparent one at Banggood is $6.99 USD whcih puts it more expensive than this:
https://au.banggood.com/Nitecore-T-Series-Tube-45LM-USB-Rech…You were so close! The green, blue and pink are $8.93 AUD delivered until tomorrow (translucent colours only) - which is also a good price but I was happy to pay the extra 1$ and pick one up. (https://au.banggood.com/Nitecore-T-Series-Tube-45LM-USB-Rech…) for the green version.
Add the GST and you are at the same price pretty much.
@ShipShapeRC: I have 3 of these that have had HEAPS of use while traveling/camping over the last 3 years, great little lights, but I think 2 of mine are knock-offs, I can't lock them off like I can with the other one… So for a similar price I'd be buying locally from a decent retailer that's most likely genuine stock.. .
A couple of mine I have on a loop of ribbon that barely slips over my head so I can hang them around my neck or have the ribbon around my head above my ears to use them as a headlamp, great when camping… I carry a decent headlamp but I always end up just using these…
Why is this a bargain?
I keep one in my carry on luggage. Handy light to find things in my bag on the plane, or in the event I'm travelling and there is a power outage.
phones have torches on them bruh, no need to spend $10
Do you know how many people have dropped phones when using as a torch?
Also these will work in rain also and good for key ring when opening doors at night.both of mine have been through the washing machine several times each over the past few years, no problems at all.
these used to sell for $5 in past sales
Not for a while. $5 is not near the current pricing from those sellers. They were all overseas sellers. I think this is a decent price for local stock.
AU$ up more,….now down a bit.
Had a couple fail on us in a short period of time, so wouldn't buy again even if it was on sale for $5 as before.
Same experience with 2 I bought. Great while they lasted though.
Same here,, 2failed ,,, need to think twice now
I wouldn't shop with Curious Planet aka My Geographic aka AG Group previously trading as Australian Geographic. They are likely to hold you money for weeks and then issue a refund based on my experience.
Decent little light, though it has since been surpassed by others in some regards. Still, for $10 if I'm going past, I'd grab one.
