Greetings everyone, seems like a great increase on this offer :)

It may be worth referring to the $5 deal for any F&Q's which may have been answered in the comments.

Terms:

Cashback is limited to three transactions per account within the offer period (16/10/19 - 16/11/19). Note however that only one $10 cashback can be earned per Cashrewards account as per the promotional increase below.

** SPECIAL $10 PROMOTIONAL OFFER FROM 1:00PM AEDT OCT 29 to 11:59PM AEDT OCT 31 2019: **

Cashback will return to $5 from 01/11/19 to 16/11/19 inclusive.

  • So I have 2.5 days to fill up my tank 3 times to get the total of $30 cash back. At least I can get it on one tank, if I hadnt just filled up using 7/11's fuel app & saved $12 on my tank seeing as the prices increased so much since I locked it in ;)

    • +1

Apologies for that, got mixed up with the old title lol, this $10 offer is only a single use as per the special terms.

      • -1

Its all good. It does mention "Cashback is eligible on the first 3 transactions only" on CashRewards site. So I guess you could use the same credit card on up to 3 fill ups within the time period if you use that much fuel or have multiple cars? Maybe? The terms are a little confusing on the site.

Also says "Cashback will increase to $10 during this promotional period. The increased Cashback of $10 is payable only once per member during this period, and counts towards the 3 transaction limit mentioned previously." so who really knows.

        • I don't understand the 3 transaction limit. Where is it mentioned previously?

        • +9

I think what it essentially means is:

          1. There is a 3 transaction limit to be eligible for cashback from Caltex, which is normally $5. As per the normal terms, if you make any more than 3 transactions then the rest will be declined after the 3rd.

          2. This $10 increase will track for one transaction, and the remaining uses of the 3 max transactions will track at $5.

E.G If you've already used the $5 one 2 times, then this will be your last eligible transaction and will track at $10. However, if this is your first use, you'll get $10 the first time during the promo period, then you still have 2 more eligible transactions which will be $5.

I think that's the understanding of it :)

@doweyy: Perfectly explained doweyy, thank you. This is correct.

            • @tightarse: TA - What happens after November 16?

              • +1

@[Deactivated]: As per the terms, this $10 offer ends Oct 31. From Nov 1 to Nov 16, we revert Caltex to $5. At 11:59pm AEDT on Nov 16, Caltex will be removed. Think of it like an Amex offer that only lasts a certain amount of time. We could however possibly extend it or bring it back again at a later date.

                • +1

@tightarse: Riiiiight, that makes sense now.
                  Thanks TA! 👍👍

    • +1

The $10 cash back is a one-off. You can get the $5 cash back 3 times before Nov 16 (but this $10 will count as one of them). I've had 2 tracked, both about an hour after paying, and one that didn't go through for some reason. Check the list of eligible stations on the cashrewards site.

  • +2

Although, fuel prices are currently at their highest in Sydney, so if you don't need to it might not be worth it.

    • +1

      diesel is ok

    • +9

      Caltex sells giftcards.

      • +1

Wait, cash back will come thru buying gift cards?

        • +1

I too would like to know

As petrol in my area is almost 160,

At the bottom of the cycle its about 135
So 20% off essentially cancels it off

  • Guessing now I won't be using the Supreme 98 fuel I locked in at 7/11

    • Lol also thinking the same

      • Actually, if I were to fill up at today's rate (in Brisbane) and only for $50, this deal represents a saving of ~$3 (and I'll miss out on 98 fuel). Might give it a miss.

  • +1

Caltex and Coles Express are showing around 145.0 in Adelaide whereas Woolies and X Convenience are around 129.9. It's still cheaper to fill up with this deal, but unfortunately I've put in more than half a tank just two days ago. Does the $50 have to be just fuel or we can buy other staff?

    • +24

      The staff aren't for sale.

      • +6

        have you asked?
        .

      • My local staff member, youd have to pay me to buy her.

        And im ugly as F

      • Good one. Haha

    • +4

145.0 in Adelaide whereas Woolies and X Convenience are around 129.9

The industry and the Government spread a story for morons that there's a mere $0.03 profit per litre because of cutthroat competition.

    • +3

You can buy other stuff in store.

  • Can this be stacked with the mytoyota 4c per/l litre discount?

    • also can it be stacked with the linked $5 cashback offer?

      • yes and yes, if you use NRMA or Toyota discount, ensure your final amount after discount is $50 or over

  • +2

remember to use NRMA membership card/app for extra few cents discount/L too :) (5c/L for Premium fuel and 3c/L for others)

  • thanks. this helps offset the increased fuel prices since last week.

  • +1

Is this safe? To actually store your card detail on their website?

    • Very good question / valid concern.

      • +1

I've answered this many times across various Cashrewards posts:

Visa and/or Mastercard details are not captured or stored at any point by Cashrewards. Your card details are encrypted, captured and stored by Visa and/or Mastercard alone from your secure browser session. We do not pass this back to our system. Once your card is linked, Visa and/or Mastercard then send us the last 4 digits for reference.

  • Do we just need to link a card and pay with it? How does cashrewards track if we don't activate any thing.

    • Set and forget. Simply link your card and shop at any of the listed Visa/Mastercard enabled stores. Stores and offers are added/changed regularly, so please check back to ensure the store you want to shop at is listed prior to purchase:

      • +1

Reading the previous post I thought we need to activate the offer. I could not find this when i logged into CR on a desktop but can see the orange "Activate Now" button if I log into the app. However, when I tried to click it I got the message "activating your offer is taking longer than usual, please try again later". Could you please clarify whether we need to activate this offer? Thanks

        • +2

You have an old version of the mobile app installed. Please update to v1.4.5. Activating in-store offers is no longer required.

  • +1

    Just tried linking a card… twice…

    And nothing's showing up!

    • +1

Hi KK. Mentioned in other posts. This seems to do the trick as it generates a new token. Also clearing your cache works:

Log out of Cashrewards then back in if you're having trouble linking your card. Email confirmation is sent upon successful registration.

      • Thanks TA, logged out then back in… looks like it worked now!

So the next step is to simply go in store and make a purchase as per the T&Cs?

        • I was going to suggest linking via the app, but great to hear it worked. So yep, simply shop at any of the stores listed here and ensure you follow the terms for each, as some have min spends etc. Also, this FAQ should answer most, if not all your questions. As I mentioned earlier, stores and offers are added/changed regularly, so please check back to ensure the store you want to shop at is listed prior to purchase. All the best.

          • +1

            @tightarse: Thanks!

            • @[Deactivated]: I should have mentioned this too, as it's quite important. You must tap or select the credit option at the terminal. Selecting cheque/savings will invalidate cashback. Payment with Android/Apple Pay is fine provided the associated card is linked to your CR account. Always retain your paper invoice in case an issue arises. Thanks.

              • @tightarse: Has the process changed since the first promo? I ask this because I did tap payment from my debit card and it tracked fine.

                • +1

@aldroid: Not at all. Tap is fine :)

      • I was having the same problem, but after reading this I tried logging out and back in which fixed it :)

    • I tried multiple times unsuccessfully using Firefox.
      Then tried Chrome no problem!

  • No good for small cars.

    • just put 98 in it

  • 750 stores and the Caltex Woolies in Mernda is not eligible urghh!

  • TA, are all limits per CR account? or per linked card?

    • Per Cashrewards account.

  • +2

Comments above and past have suggested you can buy gift cards to meet the $50 MIN spend but it hasn't been properly confirmed or clarified.
Can you meet the whole spend by only buying gift cards and if so, does anyone know what brands Caltex sell?
    Thanks!

    • +2

Amazon, PlayStation, Caltex Star cash card and 2 or 3 more non-popular brands:(
Definitely no eBay, Wish, JB Hi-Fi etc
That's as far as I can remember.

      • Do you know: Can the Amazon cards be used on Amazon US, or only AU?

      • Kew VIC have Netflix, Stan, Google Play, iTunes, David Jones, Myer, Village, Amazon, Xbox, Playstation - open 24hrs :)

    • +2

I purchased just a $50 starcash gift card last time around and received the cash back.

      • Hope it works! If not, no loss I guess..

  • My first $5 reward didn't track. Hopefully this one does.

    • Either did mine but you can submit a ticket and they'll sort it

  • +1

FFS I filled up this morning.

<insert my normal whinge about lack of notice for CR deals>

  • How can I check if my in-store purchase has tracked?

    • +1

An email will come through usually instant

    • +2

You will receive a regular tracking email and the funds showing as pending in your CR. This can vary anywhere from instant and up to 14 days, depending on store and merchant bank the payment terminal is linked with.

      • I didn't get any tracking email…

But then again, I did add the card to my account and then visit the store in the next hour or two.. Probably not sufficient time for the card to be registered on the CR end..

      • This can vary anywhere from instant and up to 14 days

Should I wait till day 15 before submitting a ticket?
Used twice already on 17 and 24th and no tracking email for either…($5 offer)

        • +2

Yep, sure. Simply submit your claim here and upload a screenshot of the paper invoice and it'll be added to your account. Terminal IDs from some outlets/stores are a pain and have caused some sales to go untracked, but hopefully this is slowly being ironed out. Thanks.

          • @tightarse: OK, I've submitted a claim for September 6th 2019 when I didn't get a tracking from Caltex and expected $10 cashback.

  • -2

Anyone have list of Caltex in VIC where this works?

    • Click the main link in this post and scroll down.

  • wow..this is awesome!

  • +1

    Yay this one tracked !

Good news! You’ve got AUD 10.00
Your Cashback is on its way
    Hi Nathan
    We’ve tracked your Cashback

    • Enjoy :)

      • Hi TA, is there any limit on how many Visa/MC you can register per account?

        • Hey! Five of each as per the FAQs here.

  • My transaction last week didn't track. I don't think i have the receipt anymore, but it appears on my credit card online banking statement. Is it still able to be investigated?

  • +1

Wow, tracked a few minutes after I paid.

    • +1

Aww I still got nothing and it's been an hour

  • Will the Cashback work if I use Apple Pay?

    • I know this is a bit late, but just wanted to confirm that it tracked when I paid for the purchase using Google Pay. So it should work with Apple Pay too.

  • +2

If me and wife have same MC, what happens if I use the MC at caltex? Who gets $10 cashback?

    • Would also like to know the answer to this as I've got a joint Mastercard.

  • +2

So can you purchase gift cards?

Seems like the rep just ignores the question thats been asked 3 times

    • +8

My apologies. I've not deliberately ignored the question at all. I'm unfortunately not online 24/7 to respond to every question in real time. As far as the offer goes, you can buy anything at Caltex provided the total charged to your card in the one transaction is $50 or greater. Thank you.

      • Awesome thanks!

        • Just bought a gc.

          Tracked immediately

          Nice work

  • The cashrewards T&C says, Gift card MAY not give cashback. But looking at the feedback above, it seems it will give cashback. best to buy gift card, worst case you still have your money.

    • thanks for that, i couldnt see any mention of gc
but youre right, i wont lose out even if cb doesnt work

  • +1

My two local dedicated Caltex (no Woolies) which were just recently part of this deal, are no longer there.
Just as well I checked the list again. Neither are included
I had got $5 cash back just recently, so I know it once worked.

    • This is where i got screwed over as well, its too tricky. Also right now is still the high point of the petrol price cycle, so people will need to compare the $10 saving with how much they will save if they can hold out for it to drop back down. Since these days it seems to jump by about 40c or so.

    • +1

Hi. Can you please advise which two locations you're referring to, because as far as I'm aware, Caltex has not changed the list to us since running the $5 promo back in August. Thank you.

  • For those interested I (accidentally) fueled up at a caltex servo not on the list, but it tracked straight away for the $10 cashback.

323/327 Brighton Rd, North Brighton SA 5048

My first $5 attempt last week (at a servo on the list) hasn't tracked yet and have put in a query with CR.

    • +1

This is interesting, thank you. I can definitely confirm that this location is not on the list provided to us by Caltex. Will follow up with them. Thank you.

      • Hi TA, I have put in a claim with CR but have been advised that "Unfortunately, during the promotion period between 29/10/2019 to 31/10/2019 only one transaction was eligible for cashback, and that cashback amount was $10. Any other transactions during these three days were ineligible for any cashback, neither $10 not $5." I will send a PM with details. Thanks,

  • +3

    Thought you might be interested.
Ps: Please don't cancel my cashback! 😉

  • Hi TA, Can you please advise on question that was asked above - If me and wife have same MC, what happens if I use the MC at caltex? Who gets $10 cashback?
