15% off Storewide + Additional 5% off (eg 30m Hose Reel Kit $193 Delivered, Save $46) @ Hoselink

1320
CELEBRATE

I know some people were looking for a better deal when the 20% off garden tools came around last week, this one is pretty decent.
Stacks with "savewater" for another 5% off.
Brought the 30m hose reel kit down from $239 to $193 delivered.

Can also use CELEBRATE for $10 off which may be better than 5% depending on what you're buying.

Edit - Looks like the "savewater" 5% off has expired. Celebrate still works for $10 off though.

Can any fellow Ozbargainer tell me how long theirs has lasted? The Aldi ones have just hit 12 months (2 units) and they are cactus. Hose fittings falling off, hose has gone a wierd colour and sticky/gummy. 1 is even relatively protected from weather. Don’t mind spending money but these only have 2 year warranty.

    • +5

I had one for around 5 years and no issues. Fittings are rock solid. If it's out in the elements/full sun constantly I'd look at getting one of the reel covers for cheap insurance.
They're under $17 with this deal.

Had one for many years now. Hose and connectors are good. Been through a few gun heads though.

    • +2

I have Aldi for over 5 years, and still ok, though mine is in the shade. I got the hoselink earlier this year, and it’s no comparison. Way better hose in everything, the connector, the smoothness of reeling, etc. Get this

    • +2

I’ve had my 25m reel for about 18 months. I use it every day to spray the grass after picking up my dogs poop. On the rare occasion it sticks when rewinding but it just needs to be run out longer so the hose can be reseated in the case.

Mine is ground mounted in full sun. The case is fine. The part that sticks out of the hosereel is a bit yellow. And the connectors are a bit faded. But again, it’s in full sun day in day out.

Strongly recommend the high flow though. I didn’t get high flow and waited past the 30 days to mount it so I couldn’t exchange the hosereel. It’s fine to use but not great for blasting water when washing the car.

Customer service has been pretty good too. I had a connector break and they sent one out immediately for free. I had a dual tap adapter that started leaking out of warranty and they sent me a free one though I had to pay for shipping, which I thought was was reasonable.

      Hope this helps!

Mine is strong after 2 years. Neighbour next door has at least six and I know they've just recently changed the spray gun but I'm guessing at least 3-4 years old.

    • I bought a set of burst proof fittings and hand sprays about 3-4 years ago. We occasionally lose the rubber rings between the fittings; one of the hand sprays leaks (maybe I could solve that fitting a new seal inside the unit but I am yet to try); both hand sprays lost the good even spread of water they had when new. My wife tends to cross-thread the plastic on the tap brass but the damaged fittings still go on right if you take you time lining them up.

If you have a lot of 'standard' fitting accessories, I suggest sticking with 'standard' hose fittings. We have a separate hose for things like pressure sprayer, bottled weed spray, etc. We still use that for old lawn sprinklers. Our Hoselink-fitted hose is only used with the hand spray. When the fitting or hand spray fails, we'll go back to using only 'standard'.

    • Mine is lasting okay. The problem is in retracting the hose. Sometimes I would pull it 20 times and it still won't retract properly. Sometimes even 5 meters won't retract. Disappointing.
Also, if you aren't careful the connectors break easily

I've had the Hi-Flow 25m Retractable Hose Reel for a few years and it's been fantastic. Needed more water pressure through the hose and recommend the hiflow version.

  • Brilliant hoses and connections. Can’t fault them. Reviews online show thousands of happy people and the ones that had issues seem to have been helped really well by them company. I recommend them enough. Using their hose is an absolute pleasure.

    • +4

I have them, fail to see how they're better than reasonable quality stuff from bunnings.

      • +1

Any idea how they compare to hozelock? Have 2 of them still sitting in the boxes purchased from bunnings, not sure if I should gift them and purchase these seeing that everyone seems to rave on about the hoselink

        • If you’re near Sydney city, interested to know if you want to sell them. I want one but can’t find the stock anymore.

          • @ashftc: Try eBay.

            • @RogerLoger: Tried that. $219 for a 30m retractable Hozelock. Lol

          • @ashftc: Try Costco if you have a membership or know somebody who has. From memory it was below $100 for 20m or 25m.

            • @Sigiriya: I have membership. Will try. Do they sell same brand? Hozelock?

        • No idea sorry

        • Absolute Rubbish , bought one from Bunnings and took it back after 2 weeks , do yourself a favour and get a Hoselink , I now have 3 and they are fair superior

      • +1

For example: We had 3 Holman 30m retractable hoses(from Bunnings) within a year which kept failing/leaking. Bit the bullet on Hoselink 5 yrs ago, still works perfect and as good as new, using a cover.

        • +1

Holman is NASTY NASTY STUFF! 110% blacklisted for me and several family members have also had unbelievably poor lifespans from their products. I wouldn't bother taking Holman home if they were giving it away.

        • And the price difference? You're comparing cheap vs expensive. I just buy equipment with brass fittings and they're great which also doesn't limit me to expensive hoselink accessories or using an adaptor (which defeats the purpose of hoselink).

    • +1

I'm not sure if I just got unlucky, but I've had multiple connectors crack or start leaking after 1-2 years and the guns always leak after a while. Hoses have been OK, but all their plastics seem to go after a a couple of years.

  • I had one where the hose bubbled along the hose. They had no problems in replacing it and didn't want the old one back. Both still going well although the old one doesn't get much use.

  • +4

Can use CELEBRATE multiple times so break up your orders to just over the $30 for free shipping if ordering multiple smaller items

    • I bought a bundle - worked out same price as breaking up.

  • Bugger just paid 239 for a 30m one that hasn't even arrived yet

    • +1

They're nice people. Contact them and see if they are happy to offer the discount.

      • +6

nah, I'm frugal but not cheap. a sale is a sale. I was happy at that price.
        Ordered another one for the back yard at this price so don't feel like I've missed out;

  • Should i pull the trigger on 2x 20m units or is there something better?

    Cheers

    • A good thing to do is measure the distance from your tap to the areas you need to water. You want a path of least resistance of course but this will give you an idea of what hose length you need and mount fittings etc.

  • Back to my retractable hose dilemma - Aldi, Hoselock or Hoselink. At least I eliminated Holman….

    • Hoselink!

I've had it for about 3 years and ZERO issues. Make sure you get a cover to protect the plastic, especially if it's exposed to sun.
The mechanism in it is rock-solid just like the overall build quality. Hose always retracts easily. I have a 30m model that reaches all parts of my property.

      • Hey thanks, high flow or standard?

        • If you have good water pressure then standard should be fine.

        • I've got the high flow version. Where I live, water pressure is insane so this model comes very handy.

  • Had a 30m Hoselock for 4.5 years now. Used daily in summer. No problems at all.

    • Hoselock or Hoselink?

  • Thanks been gonna buy one of these hoses for a while now! (I couldnt stack both codes unfortunately for a 20m hose reel)

    • +1

The two codes won't stack, have to pick which gives the bigger discount. Its more that it stacks with their 15% off which is already applied before adding to cart.

  • I got the HoZelock deal from bunnngs a while ago. 40m for $140 or something. But I returned it soon after, the quality of the bracket and screws they provide would def not be able to hold it up. That unit weighed 18kg, and the attachment was plastic with 7mm screws.

The 30m hoselink weighs about 13kg and the parts look pretty solid in the installation video.

I have done a bit of research and Hoselink, Delrico and Gardena are probably in the same ballpark in terms of quality. Also note the 30m HoZelock is better than the 40m unit, it looks like a different design.

    • Also got that 40m hose. Mines holding up and withstanding the full 40m whiplash no dramas. But I do get a drip every other time I use it from somewhere inside the mechanism (not from the connectors), very strange. Not fussed, the leak only happens when water is flowing.

  • +5

I don't like these as they mount on the wall, the local bong heads keep cutting my hose so I just get the cheap $10 hoses from Bunnings, easier and helps me contribute to their addiction.

    • They do have an optional ground mount, the only hosereel that has such an option. I bought it and it’s worked pretty well

  • Thanks OP, bought one. Now to get the wife to water the bloody garden…

  • TY OP got hi flow plus a few $30 orders of bits. saved myself about $50 just on your coupons alone

  • Are hozelink considered the best hose reel kits? I will need to buy 2 in the future. I've bought hoselink connectors 6 or 7 years ago and they're still going strong apart from being faded by the sun.

  • was looking to get a quality hose for ages..reviews are good..so this might be the deal for me so yea got one. cheers OP

  • Have one since 2015. very good stuff. Still going strong

  • -3

    very kinkY

  • +1

This will be my 4th hose purchase from hoselink. Love it. The first one purchased I forgot to take it off when we sold the place. Second one in 2015 is at my dads place and he loves it. 3rd one was early this year with the heavy duty cart wheel and hose combo. This is my 4th purchase for my own backyard. Love them

  • Thanks OP. Been meaning to get one of these for a while.
Contemplating getting another as a xmas present for the folks.

  • +2

For anyone wondering, the 15% off ends 11:59pm Oct 31 and the CELEBRATE code expires on November 1st according to the chat support.

  • Has anyone ever tried removing the Hoselink connectors and fitting with another brand? Looking to find a way to connect to an indoor laundry tap. I like the idea of the Hoselink fitting for the sprayer but I may not be able to get the other end connected to the indoor tap.

  • Thanks! Was going to wait for Black Friday sales but this is good enough deal to grab the 30m retractable.

  • Thank You, been waiting to get another

  • +1

I have found the Hoselink stuff to be a bit disappointing as far as longevity goes. I really want the hose reel, but based on the failure rate of their tap fittings and hose connectors….

  • Assuming water supply pressure isn't an issue and hose length isn't critical would you go for the 25m HiFlow over the 30m standard?

    • +1

I already have the 30m standard one and it's fine. Usually I water my plants on shower mode and if I want a bit more pressure, I switch to Jet.

This time around, I'm getting the 25m HiFlow for the front so I can use the extra pressure to wash my car.

Unless you have a huge backyard in excess of 25m then why wouldn't you just get the HiFlow one? Same price. If your backyard is in excess of 25m then the standard one is fine IMO.

  • Thanks OP. Bought one

  • I just ordered stuff on Sunday wow this sucks lol

    • +1

i'm right there with you mate. ordered a second one on this deal and dont feel so bad (other than I forgot to oder a second cover )

  • Thanks OP. Was about to order one of these last week but decided to hold out for a sale and glad I did!
Ordered the retractable 25m HiFlow for the front of the house so I can wash my car.

Already have the standard 30m one for the back yard. Highly recommended. Watering is a breeze and no leaks.

  • I was going to buy reels and a bunch of things but CELEBRATE doesnt stack.

    • +1

It won't stack with the savewater 5% off, you just have to use whichever gives a better discount. 5% or $10. You may find multiple orders with the $10 off works best if it qualifies for free shipping.

      • Unfortunately it wouldnt work at all, this was even prior to trying to trying to stack codes. It just says for SAVEWATER "Enter a valid discount code or gift card"

        • I just used CELEBRATE successfully.
          .

          • @Nugs: CELEBRATE works - but SAVEWATER doesn't work.
SAVEWATER will save you another $0.15 if you are buying the 30m hose reel kit :)

            • @kungfupanda: understood. I was only purchasing a few connectors
              .

        • +1

          Thanks, updated the OP.

  • celebrate code not working for me…

    CELEBRATE
    Apply Discount Code

    • Pretty sure everything expired midnight last night.

  • I ordered two units and only recieved one. Does they delivery separately?

  • Dayum Hoselink, thanks for the 6:30am wakeup message on a Saturday morning to say my reel had been posted.
