    • Just got the white and they changed the price so it shows as 999 on the receipt

      • Thanks for the info, i thought getting white or green could make it cheaper for someone going overseas

  • Just signed on to this plan, tried to change to the M2M but was immediately told it was under JB HIFI and would charge $390

    • Yes that the automatic response from telstra now.

However, apparently you can make changes online when you login, just click change plan and choose one of the m2m. It said to show $0 upfront charge and your jb plan also chnages to $0 payout fee.

      • I ended up doing it this way but I fully expect to have the ETC $390 when my bill comes. But worth a shot…

        • I got an online rep to say I can do it that way and have no ETC charge, have saved that transcript chat for when/if they charge ETC in next bill.

          • @bargrin: I did it this way too and when I check my order number it says "Add Plan Contract Cancellation Waiver" which seems pretty clear to me.

            • @wangasm: At which stage of the application did u add cancellation waiver?

              • +3

@Shikha966: It was automatically added when I "upgraded" the plan to M2M through the website. When you do this and it processes the order it looks something like this

                Add 5G Network Access
                Add Mobile Plan Small
                Add Mobile Plans 06-2019
                Add Modify Order Indicator
                Add Plan Contract Cancellation Waiver
Remove 20GB Mobile Data Bonus - Until Recontract
Remove JB Hi-Fi Mobile BYO Plan $65 12 Month
Remove JB Hi-Fi Mobile Plans 09-2018
                Remove Mass Market Offers
                Remove Service Contract 12 Months

                • @wangasm: Nice - my order looks same. I hold out some hope!

                • @wangasm: Ordered. Just recorder number.

                • @wangasm: I can't find where it says that when I switched over to M2M online account 2 days ago..

                  • @kei: You should have received an email with your order number in it, it starts with "1-" (It's also named on the attachments). Put that number into this page: https://www.my.telstra.com.au/myaccount/track-my-order

                    • @wangasm: I only have the order number for the jbhifi plan. The m2m order number starts with SBS

                      • @kei: Did you get an email titled "Your plan details on a page"? There is an attachment on it named with your order number.

                • @wangasm: I "upgraded" to the M2M plan and I got an SBS order number (my first bill had already been issued).
However, my order process doesn't look nearly as detailed as yours.
What M2M plan did you move to?

                  • @Syberian: I moved to the $50 15GB plan. As I mentioned above, you need your order number starting with 1- to see the detailed changes.

                    • +1

@wangasm: What if you did not received an email titled "Your plan details on a page"? but only Order Confirmation with order number starting SBS?

                      • @bibimbap: Not sure, you can maybe ask Telstra chat for your real order number.

We need to have an Ozbargain pro membership to weed out the idiots who keeping screwing things up for everyone else. First the Sony A7III and WF1000XM3 deals on Qantas, and now this. FFS people just stop calling and telling the reps about these deals!!

    • yes %100 agree about the idiots who come on here and admit that they told the online chat about this jbhifi deal they saw on ozbargain that said i can cancel the plan and not be charged, help me pretty please. lmao what a bunch of dummies.. or they dont even bother reading the previous comments and come up and ask how do i cancel a m2m plan. deserve to be suspended for a week lol

      • -1

Yeah and some not even get the deal yet, just come here to ask hundreds question up front. Some even said I don't really need new phone or plan. So wtf you won't die if you don't get this deal mate.

        • I think in upcoming deals may be mod can put the good methods and constructive FAQ at the first page.

        • What's the status on galaxy buds?

Reporting that i managed to switch over MTM through online chat this afternoon, with no ETC confirmed by rep. Transcript saved. This is done on the 4th attempt.

Im certainly a newbie on mobile plan deals and glad that much info were shared by the group here. Some by newbies, some by more experienced members (obviously not from certain members who whine about newbie and wanting elite group only). Ozbargaining is for everyone. Its not called Elite-bargaining for a reason. Saying that, if people would take some effort to read through comments you would be more informed and less likely to make mistakes like owning up to Telstra reps that you are switching from JB HI FI mobile phone deal.

Note that your account would be noted with JB HI FI BYO 12 month plan on initial signup. Thats all the rep see. They wouldnt know its a mobile phone deal unless you said so. Telstra rep would be much more informed now, as you can imagined the sudden increase in request to switch to MTM. Also there are heaps of JB HI FI/Telstra rep in Ozbargain. Over time, this deal will be found out anyway. Its a loophole rather than an actual deal if people were just cancelling the plan in the end. The multiple chat attempt is to find a rep who either knowingly or unknowingly help you switch over to MTM plan. I say thank you to Telstra and Jb Hi Fi reps who have been friendly nonetheless.

If you were to play by the rules and pay the ETC, then it is a true deal as you should be ahead by selling the phone and the bud.

I got the deal today from my local JB. Has anyone claimed the earbuds without opening the box? I got the phone as a gift for my son but not until Xmas but want to claim the earbuds. I guess if I have to I will but curios to see if there is a way around it?

    • You don't need to open it. The IMEI is printed on outside of the box which is all you need (Along with the receipt)

      • My claim is stuck on "submitted". What's the status on yours

        • I called as well and got it validated. But I check on the web still shows submitted.

        • Mine is also stuck on submitted

          • +1

@wangasm: Just called them and got it validated.

Also managed to change to M2M now via online chat. Cheap phone!

    • How many time did you do having no luck :(

      • Second go got it done

  • Quickly checking, is this s10e a dual SIM or single SIM version? What model or version?

    • single SIM, SM-G970F

  • I wonder is there anybody pickup 10 phones…

  • When I previously bought a S10 it came in a sealed box and a plastic wrapper on the box. The JB hi-fi box don't have a plastic sealed wrapper. Is it normal? The salesman said that the phone through this deal doesn't come with a sealer plastic wrapper

    • Think it depends…I got mine in plastic wrapper but my friend's without

    • Mine Def's was in shrink wrap

      • The 4gx from telstra stock was shrink wrapped but original jb stock before run out was jusy sealed sticker no shrink wrap.

It's really my lucky day today! Singed up for 2 s10e. Had 3 online chats in browser with no luck. The 4th chat in telstra app got my 2 numbers changed to 50 m2m plan. Few minutes later had another chat to ask for changing to prepaid. Now everything is done. 🕺

    • can i ask where can I find chat in telstra app?

        • thanks mate, looks that one is not instant live chat. but I'm trying now. Thank you a lot

          • @qzcbmo: Yes they reply very slow but did help very much. Maybe just luck.

          • @qzcbmo: You know you can change plans in APP right? No chat roulette required.

            • @Bluberry: Thanks mate, do you know would that be make sure the etc waived?

            • @Bluberry: Says there is a $390 fee in my app

              • @freoleo: APP is a bit vague. It also says no charge to change plans. But see the steps outlined buy clothoo in the pixel4 thread. If you follow those steps, you will find that you can switch to m2m with no charge. I did this and can confirm no ETC when I tried.

                • @Bluberry: My app states $390 to Cancel plan

                  and $390 to change plan

        • @mickey Weird when I click that chat button, always say unable to connect.. Xiaomi mi max 3. Not rooted (but bootloader unlocked)

          • @CyberMurning: At the beginning I couldn't even log in my account. Kept saying "your account does not have appropriate security level to use this app" then I tried to clear data then all good. Maybe you can try to clean data to see?

    • How were you able to sign up for 2?

Didn't they question you why you are getting 2?

      • I asked the guy if I can sign up for 2? He was like sure you can. Very nice and helpful.

      • +1

I used to registered 20 prepaid 20 different numbers in one day. I am sure there must be people here who did more than me. Well that's prepaid anyway.

        • OMG you are saying you were able to sign up 20 times for similar deals?

          • @Ash-Say: Nah I meant I used to have 20 different prepaid numbers ages ago. Nothing to do with this deal.

  • I signed up yesterday, Should I try to change to m2m plan today or can I wait till next month or so to do it? Lot of people are doing it on the same/next day

  • Stupid question, are the S10e's unlocked?

  • is there any telstra branding on the S10e GX model?

    • Nope. It's the exact same model with no branding.

  • -3

Can anyone who have successfully changed to a m2m plan please PM me their mobile number? The Telstra rep is said no to the change without fees but said that if I know anyone who has done this then he needs the mobile number to confirm that it can be done without ETC.

    • +8

      It's a trap

      • What's the trap?

        • +1

          Just try another rep

    • Try again

      • Done. This other rep just changed it, no questions asked. She didn't mention anything regarding the ETC etc. When I open Telstra app it says included data 15GB but under My Plan it still says $65 GB JB hi fi 12 month plan.

Does this mean that I can cancel the service and won't have to pay anything and still keep the phone?

    • -2

you idiot, dont you read the comments where people tell you not to mention of quote the ozbargain deal or others who are cancelling without fees

      • +1

You idiot, don't u read my comments properly?? Where did I say that I mentioned or quoted ozbargain deal??

  • Has someone been able to exchange phone with another phone from different store?

    • I saw one person in the pixel thread who did it for the 64gb version to 128gb version, but only if the checkout operator is ignorant enough to miss the $900 gift card entry in the receipt

      • How does the gift card entry make any difference? The invoice says s10e, price $999. Online gift card $900 and EFTPOS $99. Can't we just go to any other JB store and get another phone by paying the difference?

        • +1

Because you're not really supposed to be allowed to swap to another non-eligible phone. A smart operator would be able to pick up the $900 gift card entry.

        • +1

An experienced staff will know you bought through the Telstra port in deal then tell you can't refund. But if you get lucky you might still refund successfully.

  • Does Telstra still charge a $8 port out fee?

  • Hi , I bought S10E at JB and tried to claim the Galaxy bud, but website said IMEI redeemed. Anyone experienced this before?
    thanks

    • That is seriously unlucky. Someone probably claimed it before returning it to swap for another phone. Only thing you can do is to email them I think: [email protected]

    • Did it say so immediately? That is, while submitting your claim? Or did you submit your claim and then after a couple of days your claim status changed to IMEI redeemed?

    • I'm curious, did you get your s10e exchanged or do you have to deal with Samsung?

  • Is the serial the number on the bottom of the box?

    • Yes, the IMEI is on the box (The second bigger barcode)

      • Is that the IMEI or the serial number (or are they the same thing)?

        • Same thing

  • Happened immediately, so i can not continue the process. I will go try to go back to JB tomorrow. Let's see what they will say. I just want to check here if anyone has this problem before.

    • Pretty sure someone claimed the gift then return the phone. That's a dick move.

      • Is it even possible to return/exchange the phone?

        • If it's unopened yes, some people here and on the pixel thread have done it.

        • Possible? Yes, but you need to be lucky cause if they realize you got the phone from Telstra plan, they won't allow exchange or return.

The bad thing is that they don't check whether the gift is already claimed or not.
