Corsair Force Series 3 60GB SSD, SATA 3 - AUD 150 (Shipping fee will apply for delivery)

Step Up To Solid-State Speed with Force Series 3

Corsair SSDs are 2.5" wide, the same size as notebook hard drives. An adapter is included for mounting in standard desktop PC 3.5" drive bays.

One of the best PC performance investments you can make.

You'll be amazed at the improvement over traditional hard drive access times the first time you turn on your computer, and for virtually everything you do with your PC. System startup, application load times, data transfers, and even shutdown times are all faster.

The power of SATA 3 6Gb/second performance

Great for the latest high-performance PCs.

There's fast, and then there's fast. Force Series 3 SSDs have even quicker read and write times when they're installed in PCs that use the latest SATA 3 interface.
Compatible with SATA 2 3Gb/s.

Haven't yet moved to SATA 3? Like all Corsair components, Force Series 3 SSDs are designed to last through several system upgrades. Adding a Force Series 3 today means that you'll still get incredible storage performance now, and your SSD will be ready for your next upgrade.

TRIM Support

Force Series 3 SSDs feature support for the Windows® 7 TRIM command. This allows them to store only the data they need and perform memory optimization to ensure the fastest possible write speeds.

Reliability

Because SSDs have no moving parts, they can handle shock, vibration and temperature changes far in excess of traditional hard drives. That's important for desktop PCs, and essential for notebooks.
Cool and Quiet, with Low Power Consumption

Traditional mechanical hard drives spin at thousands of revolutions per minute. This takes power, and generates noise and heat. Since SSDs have no moving parts, there's no noise or vibration, and the lower power consumption helps keep things cool inside your PC.
3.5" adapter

The 2.5" form factor allows for installation in most notebook PCs with no adapter required. If you're adding a Force Series 3 SSD to your desktop PC, use the included 3.5" adapter to mount it in any standard hard drive bay.

Product Features:

Sequential read speeds of up to 550 MB / s
Sequential write speeds of up to 490 MB / s
SATA 6Gb / s (SATA 3) connectivity
High performance SandForce SF-2200 SSD controller
Native TRIM support (O / S support required)
RAID Support
BGC (Background Garbage Collection)

  • I thought these drives have just been recalled…
    http://forums.overclockers.com.au/showthread.php?t=964510

    • Your link indicates it's only the 120GB one at this stage!?

  • Hi, the one that has been recalled is the 120GB which has the serial number of 1123 or lower. It does not affect the 60GB version. Anyway the 60GB that we are selling has the serial number of 1126

  • Can I use it in a macbook pro 2009 model?

    • As long it has a SATA port, you can use any SATA HDD.

      • Really? So it will take a 3.5" SATA drive?

        • -1

yes, because it comes with a bracket to convert from 2.5" to 3.5". Therefore it is suitable for PC desktop which normally take 3.5" HDD

        • -1

let's get a bit more clarity here.
it may seem obvious, but you can't use a 3.5" drive in a 2.5" port, i.e. virtually any notebook. it just won't fit.
you can use a 2.5" drive in a 3.5" port provided you have a bracket or are happy to use duct tape or something like that.

        • +1

This drive is 2.5", as are most SSD drives (if not all).

So it will fit in laptops, PS3s, desktops - virtually anything.

  • Will this work in a PS3?

    • Yes, we received some feedback from our customer that it works on PS3

    • why would you bother?
      too small a drive for a ps3

      • Faster boot/load times. Remember most PS3s used to come with 40/60 gig hard drives.

        • I wont bother arguing this point too far, but hes right, there isn't much advantage with a PS3 for HDD vs SSD due to the architecture on the port…

Have fun imagining everything being faster though…

  • I read a review saying that SSD on a ps3 isnt really worth spending the extra money on. Might be better off going getting that Seagate Hybrid drive for the ps3.

  • Why is this worth $15 more than the OCZ Vertex3 from PCCG?

    • Probably because the brand? Because 2 months ago, we do sell the OCZ vertex3 60GB for 137. But since that, we did not receive any new stock for the item. Therefore we decided to take the item down from our website.

Also I may be wrong, I think PCCG also has remove the ocz Vertex3 60GB from their website (I maybe wrong)

    • PCCG only has the older gen Vertex 2 drive for $125
