Reading some of the comments here, why people spend time at the hotel streaming/chromecasting?

    • Best way to play your favourite music videos whilst getting ready to go out sightseeing or partying.

    • If you're away for an extended period in a foreign country sometimes none of the shows are in English and you want to relax for an evening or you want to Chromecast your local Aussie news or a sports event via iview or similar. Or you're just too addicted to that new weekly Netflix series and just can't miss it. ๐Ÿ˜‚

Try a year and a half in Vietnam with the local TV being only Vietnamese soap operas or singing competitions ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ‡ป๐Ÿ‡ณ

    • I travel for work so much, Iโ€™ve done just about everything in a hotel room….

  • so just confirming, if at a location where it has wifi only (no ethernet), you connect this device to wifi and then it will allow you to plug in an ethernet device and also at the same time create another wifi network?

Correct. In fact you can change the WAN port to a LAN port so two wired devices. Or change a wired hotel port to WiFi (which is often better than the public Wifi).

If you're moving hotels a lot you connect all your devices to the Mango once then you only ever have connect one device (the Mango) to the changing free/public/hotel WiFi. Nice if you travel with lots of devices or lots of people with devices.

  • I love Mangoes. Is this the R2E2 or Kensington variety?

Almost every new Android phone can run as a repeater achieving the same outcome - sharing the already established WiFi connection with other users, whether on a plane or in a hotel. This also works with Chromecast creating a local network allowing you to bypass hotels login screen.
And yes, you can cast from the same device from which you're sharing the WiFi connection.

      Spot on!

      • What about effective range of both devices? i.e. comparing the range of this device compared to an android phone?

        • would be interested to know this too

I believed the point to this device so you are protected from hacking due to connected to a public wifi. This the main reason why I brought one.

Some one correct me if I am wrong

WTF??? Another example of OZBARGAIN = SOLE DISTRIBUTER

Is there any other brand of travel router than this gl.inet crap? Do other brands not provide good kickbacks?

I dont know about others but STATICICE.COM.AU is a better friend to me, much more objective

    • Huh? What makes you think this is not good?

    • I'll be gladly to post up another brand of travel adapter other than this gl inet if you're able to provide me with an alternative travel router with a good review and as cheap as this. :)

    • I was about to formulate an articulate response, then I read this and know you be trollinโ€™
