I have an OMNI 1GB SD player. Beware - you get what you pay for. The sound quality is pretty crappy…really muddy, no deep end and there's a very faint buzz when playing songs.
Thinking buy 1 to test it out but pull back after read this comment.
Nevertheless, this is a bargain for what you get. These later models may be better. I got mine about a year ago. May be an ipod lookalike but I reckon it definitely wouldn't be an ipod soundalike. If you value sound quality, I would suggest not buying one of these.
I wonder whether it is just a crappy earphone? Would be better earphone fix the problem?
Definitely not - if anything it makes it worse. I used my Shure E2C pro earphones ($150 back in the day) and it sounds worse - the earphones picked up the poor sound more so than earphones that came with it.

May look a like, but my previous ipod clones don't play a like. They have some strange way of sorting which track plays first. With 2gb thats a lot of songs to wade thru. BUT it's cheap and got memory to burn.
