  • I don't know how to put a pic up sorry - turns out it does it itself - again sorry

  • put incorrect price originally but worked out how to change it and can't delete this comment now

    • If you expect us to pay Shipping [from Canada?], it's not inappropriate for us to expect you to state shipping cost.

My last pair (on your "Free glasses; just pay shipping" deal) cost me just under $19 for Shipping, from someplace in Australia (via an AU-based forwarder, according to our postie, is that true?).

      Anyway, we need to know:

Will that Shipping cost be PER FRAME? or PER ORDER (of 3 pair)?

If it's PER FRAME, I think it's like HK-based companies, that offer (via eBay) apparently cheap product prices, but then add HUGE postal fees on top.

In AU, we know that $10 can pay for quite a large & heavy box across Australia; so, we'd expect to pay about $10 PER SHIPMENT, for a package of 3 frames… Right?

      Let's hope so… ;-)

      • If you do an order or a dummy order it tells you the slower shipping costs, in fact I did a dummy order for 3 pairs and it came up free shipping with $8 insurance after the discount code for three pairs was applied. I tried it for 1 pair and the slower shipping was $12.95 plus $3 insurance

Good prices but should mention that the stock has been drastically paired back to only the left over crappy stock, all the previous good frames have been removed for this sale.

    • +1

yup, all the good designer frames eg armani etc have been removed, and those few that are left are showing as sold out. lame sale but thanks OP for brining to our attention and a double thanks for not saying first post, please go easy on me.

    • Are you suggesting that Clearly Contacts may be downsizing? eg, about to close?

Or… was it just that they're offering a smaller range of frames, this time?

    • I don't agree about only crappy ones being available, it depends on what your after I like the Kham Dhillon ones and prior to this sale some of them had coupons not applicable or were way more expensive than $38 but now they are all available. I just have to decide if I really need three more pairs of glasses ;0)

    • Yep I was looking at a pair of Tom Fords recently. Now all the Tom Fords have been removed so this is hardly a sale on 'all frames'. Quite misleading.

      • all the frames on the site at the moment are $38 so technically it's a sale on all frames! ;0)

  • I am comparing what was available prior to the "all frames for $38" sale. There were easily twice as many frames including desginer (not that I expect genuine designer for $38) but it's the same as a store hiding all the good stock in the back office and having a 50% of everything sale.

    • They've done it before and it is annoying. Also should mention that 2/3 times my frames have arrived damaged/completely warped/lens size incorrect for the frame…

      • you must be really unlucky, I've ordered two pairs from them before, at different times, both received no problems, not damaged and one pair I stuffed up the prescription and it was no dramas for them to replace them, just had to send them back which took a little time but they did it all for nothing so it was all good.

        • Hmmmmmm this mean the ones they sent me where the frame immediately fell out will be fixed free (cept for the postage I will have to pay)?

  • If you are planning to claim from your health insurance, check with Clearly Contacts beforehand.

In 2006 they refused to provide Australian provider numbers or item codes - leaving me unable to claim (and thus $116 out of pocket).

    • They don't have a provider number for my health insurance company but it still worked out heaps cheaper for me getting free ones from them or this 3 for $99 offer which plus shipping works out to around $120ish a bargain in my books for three pairs of prescription glasses. There is no way I could walk into an optometrists here and get three pairs for that price even after claiming back private health insurance!
