Doesn't check out. We don't recycle in Australia, not cost effective.

      • +3

We make a lot of recycled cardboard in Australia. We are a huge producer and exporter

        • +1

Of all recycling, recycled cellulose (paper and cardboard) makes the least sense. In fact, it's harmful to the environment.

The 100% renewable resource is made from trees.

Trees remove CO2 from the atmosphere and sequester it. It gets made into paper. Paper then gets thrown out into landfill where it's buried in a pit. CO2 has been removed from the atmosphere provided the landfill is not disturbed it will not release it's methane.

Unless that is you burn fossil fuels picking it up at the thrown out stage to take it to be recycled thus lowering demand for trees.

        • +1

Look it up, they've stopped taking our recycling exports.

Are you trying to imply you were dead by day five from the maccas diet?

      • Not anymore…

        • Total spent on the 30 day deals: $4

One big mac is 257 calories. An average adult can eat 2,000 calories a day, you be fine.

      • +2

        Try doubling that.

      • +8

Do you only eat 100gm of a Big Mac? That's a pretty weird thing to do.

    • Just go bunless and don’t eat fries. Most maccas is fine on diet after that.

      • saywhaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat? pickle!

  • +26

Remember the 90s when McFlurrys were actually good. When a machine blended them.

    • +36

When the spoon was also the blending stick…

      • +5

Yep. A magical time in history.

        • Me and my mates miss the bottomless drip coffee at Maccas in the 90s. We washed and reused the same styrofoam coffee cup to score free refills right through yr 11 & 12. Three or four free refills per day every day for 2 years.

Did the same thing with the Hungry Jacks soft drink cups.

      • just ate one, weirdly the spoon hasn't changed, still a big square handled landfill /waste of plastic.

    • +2

Wait what do they do now?

only one I consider a bargain is the bigmac for $1. The others aren't really a bargain imho. They're just less expensive

    • +13

The $2 McChicken is a bargain

      • It would have been but big macs and mcchickens are basically cheeseburger size now, so it's more of a snack than a meal. $2 should be the regular price for it

    • +11

      Bargain = Less Expensive, no?

The burgers are better at Hungry Jacks.

      • +6

        When phone is fine.

When it's not fine, HJ's blows.

      • Eventually the patties will become wafer thin 😉

        • I think they spray paint them onto the bun.

      • +4

Corporate marketing. They've got you in the palm of their hands. Make a claim and the customers will repeat it.

        • +4

          But they are better.

        • +1

The cheeseburgers from mcdonalds look horrible and flat, might as well be a pancake. idk why they're so squashed, but they are. But the HJ cheeseburgers retain a normal shape and look more appetizing. plus there's literally more stuff in them. I work at HJ, and sometimes buy food from MCD and eat it just before my shift starts, and my coworkers agree that the MCD burgers look like shit.

          • @nuttapillar: They come out flat because workers use their thumbs when wrapping the burger and then the people packing the bags use their thumbs on the burger squishing it. No way to fix it unless they train their staff properly

            • @ultraboyz63: But it's not just from thumbs. The whole burger is just extremely thin. the buns are so thin. People squash them at HJs as well, but I never see them come out that flat.

            • +1

@ultraboyz63: chop off the thumbs of all workers yakuza style

      • +1

Not any more, after they got rid of the grilled chicken burger.

      • +1

        Even better at Burger King.

      • They're definitely bigger but not always better.

    • But i prefer McNugget over KFC or HJ nugget. But the best is grilled chicken from Domino's, as my personal taste.

Anw, Mc/KFC/HJ/Domi r just fast food. Eating them when i am lazy to cook.

Can I redeem multiple $1 Big Mac's per account?

    • 1 per account

      • Redeem at seperate kiosks simultaneously

        • Does this hack truly work?

          • @Craze: Does it?
Asking for an invisible friend that needs help ordering.

        • Yup that’s the way to go ^^

        • My wife said they closed this loophole recently?

          • +1

@John Kimble: Worked for me at a kiosk yesterday (3 Nov) using the generic codes published. One code per order, so split into multiple orders. No need to be simultaneous (all orders use the same generic code).

            • @kral: Oh, I think she meant the unique code you get when you are logged in. The generic code is a good workaround for these offers. There wouldn't be generic codes for the targeted offers.

    • +1

This is why we can't have nice things.

      • +1

Maccas ain’t nice to start with so what ya saying …

    • +15

      Lol

    • +1

      You go girl

    • +5

You know the app doesn't constantly track your GPS location right? It's only used for the ordering function and the store location function. I have my phone setup so that it prompts for permission every time it wants my location.

      • +1

If location services are turned off, you cannot access offers in the app. Not even just for the offer barcodes.

Older versions of the app didn't have that requirement.

    • +10

Why would it be discriminatory? It'd be unwise to offer it directly in-stores as people would be abusing this offer, therefore McDonald's limits it to one per day, by making use of the online ordering application to assist with this. Sending an email defeats the purpose of a McDonald's app dedicated to ease off the process of rewards and online ordering. It's entirely up to you if you want to access the deal or not, and why would you be so afraid of your location in the first place? There are hundreds and thousands of act users of the app and although required to have location on, it is not used any further than to locate your nearest restaurant and to determine your proximity from it in order to place an order. The barcode is readily available in the 'My Rewards' section.

Talking about the elderly, I actually had an elderly couple come in today with two chance cards who tried to redeem it without a device. It's not our problem that you don't have a single Android/iOS device, whether it be a smartphone or tablet, a promotion has set guidelines and if you choose not to follow them, then move on. In fact they started running racial comments through their mouths after they learned of the terms & conditions the hard way.

This promotion is just another way of rewarding people for using their app, just like KFC & Hungry Jacks do.

TL;DR - not our problem that some individuals don't have the app 'readily' available in order to access app-exclusive deals. Just don't participate.

        • +12

I wouldn't consider racist people customers, no matter age. Age is completely irrelevant in this case. And in what matter is my attitude appalling?

            • +6

      care that McDonalds tracks location.

It does that to allow you to pick up the order when you're at the store.

You can always turn it off when not using the app.

are you worried about getting stalked by the Hamburglar?

      • More like ham will bug ya ;)

  • Honestly this is much better than me spending $20 on 3 premium /traditional/value domino's for like a week's worth of food if I'm lucky.

Usually buy day 5 I need to finish it or it tastes a bit more cardboardy.

KFC is great but man do I spend a lot there but worth it every time.

Maccas at least is 24 hours most places so is great for that 2am hunger run.

Hungry Jack's is mostly 24 hours also but I think between 10pm and 6am is drive thru only and no walk ins allowed but if you ring them up one of their nice staff might bring it out to you if you ask em nicely.
