Credit Card for Temporary Resident on Student Visa

Ability to do chargebacks if needed, building up credits, interest free periods, etc.
Is there any credit card, other than ANZ First, for which international students can apply?
Most basic level cards from the major banks, perhaps AMEX? You're not going to get anything much more than that with limited income as an international student. Pretty high risk for banks too - you could take off at any moment and they would have next to no recourse to actually chase you down, especially if you never set foot in Australia again.
Amex won't give anyone on a student visa a credit card.
CBA offers credit cards to temporary residents

Commonwealth Low rateThe OP is on a student visa; what makes you think they'll give them an Amex Explorer with a $400 annual fee?

Check credit card forums and you can figure it out.Amex won't give it to those on a student visa. My friend applied for the DJs one and got rejected
Got evidence that an international student in Australia got an Australian Amex?

Out of interest, is there any reason you want a credit card instead of a debit card?
