Moved into a new house and we don't have an antenna socket near where the TV is which prompted me to start searching for a subscription service. I haven't used any subscription service before. We did watch free to air before and was enjoying some of the shows. Will subscription services like Amazon Prime and Netflix allow you to watch free to air channels like before? or do we have to go to each channels app separately ?
Does subscription services allow you to watch free-to-air channels live?

If you don't already have a device I recommend the Vodafone TV. Only $72 delivered. Another option is the nvidia shield tv.
I think Freeview tv is the only one I know of that lets you watch the free-to-air channels live (and free) https://www.freeview.com.au/watch-tv
Though I know somethings they don't show (certain sports I think). I've never seen Amazon Prime and Netflix have any free to air channels (just ones you pay for), closest might be Foxtel Play/Now which has some news channel thats free (useful for testing) but its not really the same as a free to air channel.
Have you tried a rabbit ears antenna? They can work quite well. They can not work quite well too.

Have zero issue picking up FTA broadcasts.
Otherwise pay an electrician to get the antenna redirected to where you want to put your TV.
The one I tried from Target were similar. It could be our location. I am thinking of getting an electrician now.
I figured out I can use Kodi (on my Xbox) to add sources that show Free tV. so temporarily I am good.
In short, no. As @trustnoone said, some (many) things are able to be streamed, but not all. You need to hook up to an aerial of some description.
Freeview apps to Chromecast?
Free to air TV? Isn't that like ancient technology that has rapidly declined for the last 20 years that only brain-dead/old people watch nowadays….
Maybe Foxtel?

I used to have Foxtel in a rental, could only get FTA channels from the satellite
We have Foxtel and yes they do have Free-to-Air channels, including HD. Love it!
If you have an device that runs any IPTV app or any device that runs Kodi, you should be able to stream off the internet. There are heaps of videos here to help you out.
