      I'd try living with both for a while, you might use the 10" a lot more than you think. The 12" is essential when you need the extra space of course, but it's a bit of a wrist snapper.

    Got a few cast iron pans now. I currently just use a tea towel when the handle gets hot, can anyone comment on the silicon handles. Are they worth it?

    Also the scrapers. I currently use paper towel but sometimes need something a little tougher. How well do the scrapers work? They worth it?

    Looking forward to the day the 12inch lid goes on sale. Would be great to have a matching lid

      I haven't tried the silicone handles, but I took a punt on the scrapers without expecting much and they're honestly close to indispensible IMO.

      A dish cloth can't really get the cooked-on bits I find, and scourers tend to f-up the seasoning - the scrapers do a nice job of reducing the mess to something your cloth or paper towel can take care of without trashing the surface. At 4 or 5 bucks a pair or whatever they are you can't go wrong.

      I'll also note in regards to seasoning that wiping your pans down with a dish cloth and detergent is fine. It's only hard scrubbing that will destroy the seasoning. These pans require far less maintenance than some people think IMO.

      The fabric hot handle holders are much better than the silicone imo and yes ive tried both.
      As for scrapers, i wouldnt worry about them, just get an el cheapo plastic dish brush with a scraper from the supermarket for $2 and give it a quick scrub/scrape with that under hot tap water after use to clean

      i do highly recommend the silicone assist handle holder for the 12 inch pan tho

      Hey there, I got the 10.5 inch with the silicon handle. Used it briefly but now it sits in my drawer. I found it useful when only cooking on stove, but as soon as it went into the oven it became useless. A tea towel is better to be honest.

          Check the weight. You probably won’t be flipping anything on the 12” unless you’re at least as built as Eugen Sandow.

          12" pan will give you the same result, the griddle is just a bit nicer for those sorts of jobs from an ergonomic standpoint.
